The invention relates to a method for producing ingot molds (1) for pig casting installations used for producing pigs. According to the invention, mill bars (2) comprised of copper are used as starting material. Said mill bars are, in particular, comprised of a copper alloy which is suited for cold forming and which has a comparatively high degree of elongation. The mill bars are formed into the shape of ingot molds by means of a conversion process in which the mill bars are formed under tensile conditions or under a combination of tensile and compressive conditions. The invention also relates to an appropriate device for producing the ingot molds for pig casting installations.

The present invention is provided to make it possible to: remove, with higher accuracy, impurities from a molten metal of a non-ferrous metal or another metal containing the impurities; obtain the molten metal having higher purity; and obtain a high-purity non-metal product or another metal product from the high-purity molten metal. Provided are: a cylindrical container body portion; an upper end plate and a lower end plate that close both ends of the container body portion in a sealed state; an upper electrode fixed to the upper end plate in a state of passing through the upper end plate, and having an inner end electrically connectable to the molten metal; and a lower electrode fixed to the lower end plate in a state of passing through the lower end plate, and having an inner end electrically connectable to the molten metal, in which at least the upper end plate is detachable from the container body portion, the upper electrode is fixed to a substantially central portion of the upper end plate in the state of passing through the upper end plate in a thickness direction, the lower electrode is fixed to a substantially central portion of the lower end plate in the state of passing through the lower end plate in a thickness direction, and the upper electrode and the lower electrode are located on a substantially vertical straight line in an upper-lower direction.

The invention relates to an ingot mould (1) for metals, which is intended for the production of an ingot through the cooling and solidification of a liquid metal mass. The inventive mould consists of a wall (2) which defines a base (4) and an inner surface (5) comprising one part S, known as the cooling surface, which can discharge all or part of the heat energy released by the metal mass during the cooling and solidification thereof. The invention is characterised in that the cooling surface S comprises at least one flat surface element Si which forms all or part of the base (4) of the ingot mould (1). The invention is also characterised in that it comprises at least one point C on a plane Pi which is tangential to each surface element Si, such that all of the segments of the straight line D connecting every point R of the cooling surface S to point C are only located inside the mould (1). The invention is further characterised in that the total area of surface elements Si is at least equal to 10 % of the surface S. The inventive ingot mould can be used to accelerate the production of ingots.

The invention concerns parallelepiped metal bars obtained by continuous or semi-continuous casting and designed to be stacked, comprising on at least one of the ridges with horizontal cross-section in the stack, or proximate thereto, at least a protuberance with a height ranging between 0.5 and 8 mm. The invention enables to obtain stacks of stable bars when they are being transported or handled.

摘要:
The proposed improvements in metallurgical conversion according to the invention involve the production of a semi-finished product (a mixed blank) in the form of an ingot through casting in a mould of a casting facility from a solid filler, preferably an oxidizer, and liquid pig iron which is subsequently cooled. Action is taken during the process to prevent the solid filler in the liquid pig iron from flaring. This is done both by the application of a mechanical force which can be created by, for example, a cantilever (8) with a hollow roller (9) which acts on the mould (2), and a weighting unit (10), and by the selection of suitable relative dimensions of the solid filler pieces and of the pouring rate. The optimal conditions are disclosed for the use of the semi-finished article in metallurgical conversions in oxygen converters and electric arc furnaces.
