A linear motion bearing assembly as provided for movement along a shaft. The ball retainer of the bearing assembly is assembled from a plurality of arcuate interengageable self-contained ball retainer segments (22). Preferably, the plurality of segments are all identical and can be assembled to a variety of configurations for either open-type bearing assemblies or closed-type bearing assemblies. Each of the ball retainer segments (22) includes at least one ball track (30) having a load bearing portion (32) and a return portion (34). These segments are preferably formed of an engineering polymer and are substantially self-contained to protect the bearing balls (52) contained therein from ambient contamination. At least one load bearing plate (44) is axially positioned in each segment (22) and serves to receive and transmit loads from the bearing balls (52) in the load bearing portion (32) of the ball tracks (30). The load bearing plates (44) are preferably retained in the segments (22) to facilitate ease of assembly and to eliminate the need for an outer housing. The segments (22) are joined together to form the overall bearing assembly either through interlocking structure formed on each segment or by retainer clips or bands (24). Optionally, end seals may be positioned on the longitudinal ends to protect the bearing assembly from ambient contamination. A novel and efficient assembly process is also provided for linear motion bearing assemblies. This process includes the steps of providing a plurality of arcuate self-containing ball retainer segments (22), each of said segments including at least one ball track (30) having a load bearing portion (32) and a return portion (34), loading a plurality of bearing balls (52) into the ball track (30), positioning a load bearing plate (44) in the segment (22) adjacent the load bearing portion of the ball track (30), and assembling the arcuate self-containing ball retainer segments (22) to form a linear motion bearing assembly.

This invention is a dual supported intraluminal graft comprising a biocompatible flexible layer (16) sandwiched between two structural support layers (18, 20). The preferred embodiment comprises a first structural support (18), such as a stent, which is concentrically retained within a tubular shaped PFTE graft (16) which is concentrically retained within a second structural support (20), such as a stent. The ends of the PFTE graft may be folded back onto the outer surface of the second structural support thereby forming flaps (30, 32). Upon radial expansion of the preferred embodiment, the stent/graft/stent assembly forms inseparable layers.

An outer reflector (21) is mounted to the housing to reflect a portion of light from the lamp (14). The auxiliary reflector (22) is preferably adjustable relative to the lamp (14). The invention also covers a dual reflector assembly, including an outer reflector (21) and inner reflector (22), adjustable relative to each other which is adapted to be mounted to a HID fixture. The invention also covers an auxiliary reflector (22) having a predetermined size and shape adapted to fit within an outer reflector (21) of a HID fixture and preferably includes facilities for adjusting the auxiliary reflector (22) relative to the outer reflector (21).

A radially expandable stent-graft and method of making the same, including at least one stent member encapsulated between at least two longitudinally expanded polytetrafluoroethylene (ePTFE) coverings. The at least one stent member (22) has openings through wall surfaces of the stent to permit radial expansion. The at least two longitudinally expanded ePTFE coverings (24, 26) are circumferentially applied over the at least one stent member in their unsintered state, and sintered during application of a circumferential pressure to bond the ePTFE around and through the wall surfaces of the stent (22). The sintered ePTFE forms a substantially continuous, monolithic and integral encapsulation of the at least one stent. Upon radial expansion of the stent graft (10), the stent and the ePTFE node-fibril microstructure radially deform. Radial deformation of the ePTFE encapsulation results in nodal elongation in the axis of radial expansion. After radial expansion of the stent-graft (10), a substantial bonded area remains intact and maintains the encapsulation of the stent in vivo.

The assembly includes a thermally insulative core and a thermally conductive ablation electrode arranged to interlock with one another by snapping the two together. The core has a proximal end which is shaped to readily fit within the distal tip of an ablation catheter and includes a head which temporarily compresses as it is inserted into the ablation electrode. A method of making the distal tip assembly is also provided.
