This application relates to the communications field, and more specifically, to a beamforming training technology. In a beamforming training method, an initiator has N antennas. In an ISS process, the initiator sends a first SSW frame in different sector directions by sequentially using an antenna in m antennas, where m is not less than 1 and is less than or equal to N; and in an RSS process, the initiator receives a second SSW frame in a parallel (that is, simultaneous) omnidirectional manner by using M antennas, where the second SSW frame is sent by a responder in different sector directions, each second SSW frame carries information used to indicate a first SSW frame with best quality in the ISS process, and the M antennas include at least the m antennas, and determines an optimal transmit beam in the ISS process based on the received second SSW frame. It can be learned that, compared with an existing manner in which sweeping (receiving) is performed by sequentially using a plurality of antennas, a multi-antenna parallel receiving manner used by the initiator in the RSS process of this application can save time and improve efficiency.

Embodiments of the present invention provide a method for establishing a communication connection between a STA and an access point. The method includes: receiving, by the AP, request frames sent by N STAs to the AP, where N is a natural number greater than or equal to 2; and after the AP receives the request frames sent by the N STAs, contending for a channel by the AP and sending one response frame to M STAs, where the response frame includes identifiers of the M STAs and M responses to the M STAs, each of the identifiers of the M STAs corresponds to one of the M responses, and the M identifiers and the M responses are used to instruct the M STAs to receive respective responses from the response frame sent by the AP, M is a natural number, and 2≤M≤N. By using the method, authentication response frames or association response frames for multiple STAs may be sent in one frame, thereby saving downlink resources.

Embodiments of the present invention provide a method for adjusting a clear channel assessment threshold and an access point. The access point includes: a receiving unit, configured to receive parameter information sent by another access point, where the parameter information sent by the another access point indicates a current channel occupation status of a basic service set in which the another access point is located; and an adjustment unit, configured to adjust a clear channel assessment CCA threshold of the access point according to the parameter information sent by the another access point. In the embodiments of the present invention, an access point adjusts a CCA threshold of the access point according to parameter information that is sent by a different access point and that indicates a current channel occupation status. Therefore, the CCA threshold of the access point can be adjusted dynamically, and communication efficiency is improved.
