    摘要: A medium access control (MAC) layer architecture and functionality for supporting enhanced uplink (EU). A MAC entity for EU, (i.e., a MAC-e entity), is incorporated into a wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU), a Node-B and a radio network controller (RNC). The WTRU MAC-e handles hybrid-automatic repeat request (H-ARQ) transmissions and retransmissions, priority handling, MAC-e multiplexing, and transport format combination (TFC) selection. The Node-B MAC-e entity handles H-ARQ transmissions and retransmissions, E-DCH scheduling and MAC-e de-multiplexing. The RNC MAC-e entity provides in-sequence delivery and handles combining of data from different Node-Bs.

    摘要: A wireless communication method and apparatus for reporting traffic volume measurement (TVM) information used to support enhanced uplink (EU) data transmissions between a wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU), i.e., a mobile station, and a Node-B. After storing EU data in a buffer, the WTRU sends an initial TVM information request message to the Node-B indicating that the WTRU has EU data available to send to the Node-B. In response, the Node-B schedules one or more allowed EU data transmissions. The WTRU transmits at least a portion of the stored EU data to the Node-B via the allowed EU data transmissions. In one embodiment, the initial TVM information request message is sent by the WTRU only after the quantity of EU data stored in the buffer of the WTRU exceeds an established threshold. Otherwise, all of the stored EU data is transferred to the Node-B without requiring scheduling by the Node-B.

    摘要: A base station, wireless transmit/receive unit, WTRU, and a method implemented by a wireless transmit/receive unit, WTRU, are disclosed. The WTRU receives a discontinuous reception, DRX, configuration in a radio resource control, RRC, message, the DRX configuration comprising a first DRX cycle length, a second DRX cycle length, and a value for a DRX cycle length transition timer, wherein the second DRX cycle length is a multiple of the first DRX cycle length. The WTRU determines that the DRX cycle length transition timer has expired, and the WTRU transitions from the first DRX cycle length to the second DRX cycle length in response to the WTRU determining that the DRX cycle length transition timer has expired.
