The container (26, 26B) can be threaded (29, 29B), and a threaded collar (22, 22B) can be screwed onto the container (26, 26B). The collar (22, 22B) can have an abutment surface (61, 61B) for facing the pump actuator (26, 26B), and the collar (22, 22B) can be screwed up or down on the container (26, 26B) to establish a selected distance between the collar abutment surface (61, 61B) and the pump actuator (36, 36B) so as to define the stroke length of the pump (20, 20B).

The present invention relates to a dispenser (10) for dispensing medications into the nostril or intravenously. The device has a number of advantageous features. First, the device includes air grooves (100) in the spray head to allow the drawing in of air into the nostril during dispensing, to assist in the intake of the dispensed medication. Second, the device contains a mechanism (200, 400-405) for varying the amount of the dose dispensed. This feature is advantageous in that it allows an accurate metered dose to be dispensed, while still allowing flexibility in the size of the dose dispensed. The device can also have indicia (701, 702, 703) for indicating when the last dose was dispensed, and can include a disinfecting feature (150) for the spray head. The device can also have a gripping feature (901) which spaces the fingers (F) from the nostril into which medication is dispensed. The device includes a pump (P) in the outer package, so that it may be used with conventional medication packaging (12). Finally, the device is adapted to be used for both nasal and intravenous dispensing, via a replaceable spray passage (201) or injection needle (202). The package is preferably clear so that the user can determine the quality of the medication being dispensed. The device is particularly useful for dispensing medications such as insulin.

Der Dosierpumpenspender dient zur gleichzeitigen dosierten Ausgabe flüssiger und/oder pastöser Medien aus wenigstens zwei separaten Vorratskammern (18, 19), die in einem gemeinsamen Pumpengehäuse (2) angeordnet und denen einzeln separate Dosierpumpen (5, 69 mit je einem Ansaug- und Ausgabeventil (23, 24) zugeordnet sind, welche von einem gemeinsamen Betätigungsorgan (3) manuell betätigbar sind, das sich betätigungsseitig in einer gemeinsamen Stirnseite der vorhandenen Dosierpumpen (5, 6) erstreckt und mit einem oder mehreren Ausgabekanälen (57, 58) versehen ist. Die Dosierpumpen (5, 6) weisen als Pumporgane jeweils Faltenbälge (21, 22) auf, die gehäuseseitig mit dem Pumpengehäuse (2) und ausgabeseitig mit dem gemeinsamen Betätigungsorgan (3) verbunden sind. Das Betätigungsorgan (3) ist hebelartig in einem die Vorratskammern (18, 19) axial überragenden Kopfteil (10) des Pumpengehäuses (2) um ein Schwenklager (11) zur Ausführung begrenzter Pumphübe einseitig schwenkbar gelagert. Die Schwenkachse (11') des Schwenklagers (11) ist quer zu einer gemeinsamen Symmetrieebene (20) der Dosierpumpen (5, 6) so angeordnet, daß die Dosierpumpen (5, 6) unterschiedlich große Abstände und unterschiedlich große Betätigungshebel zur Schwenkachse (11') aufweisen und beim Betätigen des Betätigungsorgans (3) gleichzeitig und gleichsinnig unterschiedlich große, in einem festen, vorwählbaren Verhältnis zueinander stehende Pumphübe ausführen.
