Abstract: A composite includes a first layer of a first fluoropolymer; a second layer of at least one ply of a reinforcing fabric overlying the first layer; and a third layer of a second fluoropolymer overlying the second layer opposite to the first layer, wherein the first layer, the third layer, or combination thereof have an outer surface that is defect free; wherein the composite has a continuous length of at least about 3 meters. Embodiments of such composites can find applications, for example, as processing aids for an electronic device, a food, a polymer, insulating an electrical device, or heat sealing a polymer.

Abstract: A fiber-reinforced composite material is provided which is capable of achieving CAI, ILSS, and interlaminar fracture toughness concurrently at high levels, in particular, capable of achieving high CAI. The composite material is composed of a laminated body including a plurality of reinforcing-fiber-containing layers and a resin layer in each interlaminar region between adjacent reinforcing-fiber-containing layers, wherein the resin layer is a layer wherein a cured product of a compound having in its molecule a benzoxazine ring represented by formula (1) and epoxy resin is impregnated with at least polyamide 12 powder: (R 1 : C1-C12 chain alkyl group or the like; H is bonded to at least one of the carbon atoms of the aromatic ring at ortho- or para-position with respect to C to which the oxygen atom is bonded) wherein the ratio of the polyamide 12 powder in each resin layer is 15 to 55 vol% with respect to the total volume of the resin layer.

Abstract: Present invention provides an air filter material using a laminated electret nonwoven fabric subjected to electret processing in which one layer or a plurality of layers of nonwoven fabrics (referred to as nonwoven fabric B) including fibers having a mean fiber diameter in the range of 10 micrometers to 100 micrometers and being larger than a mean fiber diameter of fibers constituting nonwoven fabric A are laminated on at least one side of a nonwoven fabric (referred to as nonwoven fabric A) obtained by mixing two kinds of fibers having a mean fiber diameter in the range of 0.1 micrometer to 15 micrometers and having a different melting point (fibers having a lower melting point are defined as fibers D and fibers having a higher melting point are defined as fibers E), and a laminated electret filter material having a low pressure loss and a high collection efficiency. The filter material is suitably used for a medical mask, an industrial mask, a general purpose mask or the like.

Abstract: The present disclosure can provide an aerogel composite. The aerogel composite comprises at least one base layer having a top surface and a bottom surface, the base layer comprising a reinforced aerogel composition which comprises a reinforcement material and a monolithic aerogel framework, a first facing layer comprising a first facing material attached to the top surface of the base layer, and a second facing layer comprising a second facing material attached to the bottom surface of the base layer. At least a portion of the monolithic aerogel framework of the base layer extends into at least a portion of both the first facing layer and the second facing layer. The first facing material and the second facing material can each comprise or consist essentially of elastic fibers such as spandex, nylon, lycra, elastane, or combinations thereof.

Abstract: A fire-resistant polymeric membrane includes a polymer layer such as PVC, TPO, or EPDM affixed to a carbon fiber composite. The carbon fiber composite includes one or two layers of non-woven carbon fibers and at least one of an inert fiber mat or a metal foil layer, wherein the metal foil layer has a melting temperature of at least about 660° C. The present invention also provides an underlayment, wherein the underlayment is formed from one or more fibrous carbon layers affixed to at least one of an inert fiber mat or a metal foil having a melting temperature greater than 660° C.

Abstract: The present invention disclosures a covering for placement on a surface, such as a wall on the inside of a house, for reduction or prevention of a singularity or a plurality of emissions, such as harmful emissions, released from the surface. The covering comprises a trapping agent and a carrier for retaining and supporting the trapping agent, such that the trapping agent can trap the singularity or plurality of emissions without being released from the carrier. The trapping agent is a substantially irreversible trapping agent independently selected from one or several of the group consisting of absorbing agents and adsorbing agents, such that the trapping agent is capable of fully or partly trapping the singularity or plurality of emissions substantially irreversibly by absorption or adsorption, or a combination of absorption and adsorption. The covering may further comprise a semi-permeable barrier. Methods for use and manufacturing of the covering are also disclosed.
