An ink escape portion as a space portion into which ink moves temporarily during a stamping operation is so formed as to continue from an ink absorber, and a stamping sheet is clamped between an inner protrusion of a holder and outer protrusion of a body to which partial overlapping margins are set. While the stamping sheet is brought into pressure contact with the body, the holder is slid and the stamping sheet is pulled outward and fixed. In this way, ink discharge can be obtained stably under the state where the stamping surface is not easily affected by the degree of the forming press force, ink leakage can be reduced to minimum and a flat stamping surface with minimum wrinkles is provided. Further, this stamping device can reduce variance of the ink density and missing of stamping to provide a desired printed matter.

A stamp cartridge including a frame, an ink-permeated body, and a heat-sensitive stencil sheet. The frame has a plate and a peripheral wall together defining a first recess to a first side of the plate and a second recess to a second side of the plate. The ink-permeated body is disposed in the second recess so that a surface of the ink-permeated body is framed by the peripheral wall. The heat-sensitive stencil sheet covers the framed surface of the ink-permeated body and an outer periphery of the peripheral wall. A portion of the heat-sensitive stencil sheet is folded into the first recess. A cap member can also be fitted in the first recess to press the portion of the heat-sensitive stencil folded into the first recess against an inner surface of the peripheral wall.

A guide hole 18 is formed in a left side wall 17 of a grip 2 provided to a stamp assembly 1. When the stamp assembly 1 is mounted to a thermal perforation unit 50, a guide bar 38 provided to the thermal perforation unit 50 is inserted into the guide hole 18. A protector clasp 18a for opening and closing the guide hole 18 is provided to the left side wall 17. The protector clasp 18a can be manually slid up and down in a protector clasp groove 17a. When the protector clasp 18a is in a lower position shown in Fig. 1 (a), the guide hole 18 is closed so that the stamp assembly 1 can not be mounted to the thermal perforation unit 50. When the protector clasp 18a is in an upper position shown in Fig. 1 (b), the guide hole 18 is closed so that the stamp assembly 1 can be mounted to the thermal perforation unit 50.
