The invention concerns a high temperature resistant surface on enhanced aluminium reflectors particularly for use in secondary solar reflectors. High reflectance after prolonged exposure at high temperature is maintained by modifying the optical layer stacks that promote high reflectivity by incorporating a special dense barrier coating in the layer system to hinder or prevent the reflectance layer deterioration which leads to reflectance loss.
