    摘要: Providing for soft error decoding for wireless relay networks is described herein. By way of example, a wireless node in a wireless relay network can receive a direct signal from a source node, and can receive a forwarded version of the source signal from a relay node. An information flag included with the forwarded version is referenced to determine whether the relay node property received the source signal. If the relay node received the source signal with error, and a destination node received the source signal with error, soft decision information can be generated from the forwarded version of the source signal and employed to assist with decoding of the source signal at the destination node. The soft-decision information improves end-to-end performance of the wireless relay system, while mitigating complexity and bandwidth requirements for the relay node as compared with conventional signal decoding techniques.

    摘要: The present invention relates to a method and a network coding node for resource allocation applicable to multi-directional network coding in an exchanging system. By estimating the number of bits per resource element (steps 402, 404) on uplink channels to a network coding node (200, 304, 504, 604), the number of resource elements for the sending on said uplinks is determined (step 410) to fully utilize the resources, i.e. such that link underutilization is avoided as well as incorporation of delays are avoided. The number of resource elements is decided such that the data transmitted to the network coding node is provided to end-nodes (302, 306, 502, 506, 602, 606) by sending one and the same representation of the data from a first and a second end-node, to said first and second end-nodes enabling extracting data originated from the differing end-node.

The wireless communication system is provided with a wireless relay station apparatus and wireless terminal station apparatuses. The wireless relay station apparatus selects coding rates to be used for a first packet and a second packet in accordance with communication quality required for the first packet and the second packet, generates error correction encoded packets having the same data length from the first packet and the second packet using the selected coding rates, performs network encoding on the error correction encoded first and second packets to generate a network encoded packet, and transmits the generated network encoded packet. The wireless terminal station apparatus performs error correction encoding on a third packet equal to one of the first and second packets, performs network decoding on a received network encoded packet using the error correction encoded third packet to generate a decoded packet, and performs error correction decoding.
