    摘要： This disclosure provides a golf ball (100) having a coating layer (110) made from a hydrophilic water-swellable material. The hydrophilic waterswellable material undergoes a physical change from a dry state to a wet state upon exposure to water. The wet state may be associated with shallower dimple depths, and the coating layer (110) being softer, than the dry state. The use of such a coating layer may allow the golf ball to compensate for the negative effects of wet weather conditions. Also provided is a method of manufacturing a golf ball.

    摘要： The present invention provides a golf ball (5) having a plurality of polygonal configurations (10, 12, 14) around the outer surface of a spherical golf ball for locating dimples on the golf ball (5). The polygonal configurations of this invention include a combination of regular pentagons (10), squares (12), and triangles (14) to cover the outer surface. The preferred golf ball (5) has its outer surface divided into twelve pentagons, thirty squares and twenty triangles. These polygonal configurations can be further divided by fifteen parting lines along great circle paths to define smaller triangles and squares for locating respective dimples. Dimples (60, 61, 62) are preferably circular in shape but can have a non-circular shape within the scope of this invention. An equatorial great circle path is provided to form a mold line for forming a cover of the golf ball in two parts.

    摘要： A golf ball with a conventional core covered with a polymer blend of at least two copolymers. The first blend polymer having a melt index of about 2 to 10 grams/10 min, a flexural modulus of 60,000 to 80,000 PSI, a shore D hardness of about 60 to 70; and the second blend copolymer having a melt index of about .2 to 2 grams/10 minutes, a flexural modulus of 2,000 to 8,000 PSI. The cover has dimples arranged in a pattern according to a dodecahedron, which is also arranged to coincide with pentagons, triangles and rows. In one embodiment the cover has 360 dimples of three different diameters and that optionally have a dual radius. Optionally the dimples are arranged to provide ten great circles free of dimples.
