    摘要: A circuit having nearly equally halves inputted electric power in such a way that the difference between the phases of the two outputs is 90 DEG . The outputs are fed to a first exciter which generates a circularly polarized wave. The wave is inputted into a second exciter, and the two outputs of which is combined in a synthesizing circuit. The opened ends of a shield case housing the first exciter and another shield case housing the second exciter are fitted together, and the first and second exciters, together with the cases, can be rotated relatively around the axis of the exciters. The phase difference between the input of the halving circuit and the output of the synthesizing circuit changes with the relative rotational angle between the first and second exciters.

    摘要: An electrically-conductive flexible probe (14) is mounted within a waveguide (12) that receives radio-frequency electromagnetic radiation. A leading portion (16) of the probe (14) has an orientation that is adjustable between two positions that are angularly displaced with respect to each other by 90°. A permanent bar magnet (18) is connected to the leading portion (16) of probe (14), and an electromagnet (20) is mounted adjacent to the bar magnet (18) so as to be capable of being magnetically coupled to the bar magnet (18). The electromagnet (20) is electrically controllable so as to control the magnetic coupling between the bar magnet (18) and the electromagnet (20), move the bar magnet (18) selectively to one of the two angular positions, and thereby correspondingly move the leading portion (16) of the probe (14) and cause the wave guide (12) to transmit radio-frequency electromagnetic radiation having a selected one of two polarizations in planes that are mutually orthogonal with respect to each other and reflect radio frequency electromagnetic radiation having he other polarization.

By replacing the internal cylindrical conductor with a rectangular conductor, the irises can be unnecessary.

    摘要: A polarization converter made of metamaterial, including a base material and a number of artificial microstructures disposed on the base material. The artificial microstructures can influence the electric field vector of plane electromagnetic wave propagating in it. The electric field vector of the electromagnetic wave can be decomposed into two non-zero orthogonal components on one or more planes perpendicular to the incident direction ofthe electromagnetic wave, the orthogonal components can be parallel and perpendicular to the optical axis at the position where the artificial microstructure located. After the electromagnetic wave passing through the polarization converter made of metamaterial, the two orthogonal components have a phase difference –³¸ different from before incidence, thereby achieving mutual conversion between the above electromagnetic wave polarization methods. The polarization converter made of metamaterial of the present invention is simple in structure, and can easily realize polarization conversion of electromagnetic waves.
