摘要: The invention relates to a low-temperature organocatalyzed process for the depolymerization of materials comprising polyethylene terephthalate.
The process comprises reacting a sample comprising poly(ethylene terephthalate) with a nucleophile in the presence of an aprotic solvent and a catalytic system comprising a N-containing organic base, and an alkaline or alkaline-earth metal organic or inorganic salt. The process affords monomeric terephthalate-based derivatives under mild conditions, namely the process does not require pre-treatment or prior purification of PET waste, it avoids energy-intensive steps and expensive equipment as it can be carried out in conventional reactors, at a temperature equal to or lower than 100 °C, under ambient pressure and for short reaction times.-
