    摘要： The present invention relates to a feed roller (1) for use in feeding timber (12). Such a feed roller comprises a body (2) and has disposed around its periphery (7) friction elements (4) comprising anti-slip elements (3) for improving the engagement between the feed roller and the log. A transfer means (8) is arranged between the friction element and the body to transfer the motion of the feed roller to the friction element. The friction element swings around a pitch point formed in the transfer means (8), adhering to the surface of the log (12) conveyed in the device and always directing an even pressure to the surface of the log. The transfer means (8) preferably comprises lugs (9), which are disposed in grooves (11) at the bottom (10) of the friction element.

    摘要： The present invention relates to an apparatus for treating stumps for use in a felling device of a felling machine. This apparatus is used especially for feeding biocide through a cutting saw (1) in a felling machine to the stump of the tree (2) being felled. Because feeding the biocide through a saw flange has proven to be uneven and to easily block the saw flange, the apparatus of the invention comprises a computer (9) arranged to control a pump (10, 16) adjusting the flow of a pressure medium for adjusting the flow of biocide directed to the stump during sawing. For this purpose, the computer is preferably arranged to read the location of the cutting saw (1) at each time with respect to the trunk of the tree being felled. On the basis of this information, the computer controlling a proportional valve (13) is arranged to adjust the flow of the pressure medium.
