摘要: An electronic pre-distorter which generates distortions for input to a non-linear device is provided. The pre-distorter generates distortions using only non-magnetic circuit components. The distortions are complementary to distortions that are generated by the non-linear device and substantially cancel out. The reduction of distortion in the non-linear device improves the dynamic range of transmitters that the device is part of.

摘要: A distortion monitor for a non-linear device is provided. The control circuit includes an input coupleable to receive a signal from the non-linear device and a first frequency monitor coupled to the input. The frequency monitor monitors the level of one of even and odd order distortion at a first frequency and creates a first signal indicative of the level of the distortion without the use of a pilot tone.

摘要: An optical communication arrangement (apparatus and method) employing intensity modulation. The parameters of the optical communication system that impose a maximum influence on the modulation distortion are monitored whenever necessary, and the operating parameters of the optical communication system can be corrected in accordance with the parameters being monitored. The system employs the intensity modulation in which a delaying mechanism having a low delay accuracy and a delaying mechanism having a high delay accuracy are provided to completely suppress the modulation distortion.
