摘要: An apparatus designed to completely vaporize an intake of heavy hydrocarbon feedstock is described. The apparatus, a so-called heavy feed mixer, is comprised of pipes being disposed coaxially about a common longitudinal axis. The inner tubular section delivers a two-phase liquid-vapor mixture of hydrocarbon feedstock and dilution steam to the apparatus. The converging/diverging tubular section has a unique structure which converges to a throat section and then diverges to an outlet section. The converging section directs a uniform shroud of superheated steam onto the hydrocarbon stream delivered by the inner tubular section. Impingement of the superheated steam with the intake stream initiates mixing and further vaporization within the throat section. The mixture traverses the converging/diverging tubular section and passes into the outlet section where vaporization is complete. The completely vaporized stream is directed out of the apparatus for further processing downstream.

摘要: The present invention features a center feed system for use within a delayed coking system, or any other similar system. The center feed system features an inlet sleeve which slidably engages a retractable nozzle, with inlet and outlet, in fluid connection with a feed source of residual byproduct, allowing residual byproduct to flow from the feed source into the interior of a vessel, thus effectuating or inducing even thermal distribution throughout the vessel.

摘要: A crude oil feedstock or crude oil fractions containing pitch feedstock is pyrolyzed in a pyrolysis furnace by feeding the crude oil or crude oil fractions containing pitch feedstock to a first stage preheater within the convection zone of the pyrolysis furnace, wherein the crude oil or crude oil fraction containing the pitch feedstock is heated within the first stage preheater to an exit temperature of at least 375 DEG C to produce a heated gas-liquid mixture, withdrawing from first stage preheater the gas-liquid mixture to a vapour-liquid separator, separating and removing the gas from the liquid in the vapour-liquid separator, and feeding the removed gas to a second preheater provided in the convection zone, further heating the temperature of the gas to a temperature above the temperature of the gas exiting the vapour-liquid separator, introducing the preheated gas into a radiant zone within the pyrolysis furnace, and pyrolyzing the gas to olefins, such as ethylene, and associated by-products.

摘要: A method for utilizing whole crude oil as a feedstock for the pyrolysis furnace of an olefin production plant wherein the feedstock is subjected to vaporization conditions until substantially vaporized with minimal mild cracking but leaving some remaining liquid from the feedstock, the vapors thus formed being subjected to severe cracking in the radiant section of the furnace, and the remaining liquid from the feedstock being mixed with at least one quenching oil.

摘要: A semi automatic coke drum deheader device (22) for use on a coke drum wherein the coke drum includes an upper opening (7), a flange (6) surrounding the upper opening (7) and a first vessel cover (2) releasably attached to the flange (6). The deheader device (22) comprises a frame (34a) attached to the coke drum, a bridge (1) for supporting the first vessel cover (2) and a second vessel cover (4), a central shaft (13) having a distal end (13a). A lift assembly is attached to the frame (34a) for engaging the thrust collar (37) to selectively raise and lower the bridge (1) relative to the flange (6), and a rotational assembly is operatively connected to the central shaft (13) for rotating the bridge (1) to selectively align the first vessel cover (2) or the second vessel cover (4) above the flange (6) during the delayed coking process.

摘要: A method for recycling a waste stream containing water and solids comprises (a) removing water from the waste stream to produce a second stream containing less than 60% by weight water, (b) drying the second stream to produce a waste feed charge containing less than 15% by weight water, and (c) injecting the waste feed charge into a coker during the coking cycle. The water removal can be carried out in one or more steps, and can be carried out in a vertical disk centrifuge if it is also desired to reduce the particle size of the solids fraction. The waste feed charge can be injected into a delayed coker, flexicoker, or fluid coker, and allows the recycle of solid waste into the coke.
