摘要: A battery cooling device for a vehicle is provided. The device repeats phase changes of a refrigerant to cool a battery due to heat of vaporization when a liquid-state refrigerant is vaporized by thermally coming in contact with a battery heat source. The vaporized refrigerant is changed back into a liquid state by thermally coming in contact with a separate coolant. The effect of cooling all battery cells is maximized throughout the entire refrigerant channel for cooling a battery and the battery cells are cooled uniformly.

摘要: According to the present disclosure, there is a cooling device for battery cells including a heat sink with a hollow structure disposed adjacent to at least one side of a battery cell assembly and having a channel formed therein through which a coolant flows, the battery cell assembly including a plurality of battery cells, and a cooling plate configured to carry out heat exchange with the battery cells, the cooling plate including a heat absorbing part interposed between the battery cells such that one surface or both surfaces come into contact with the battery cells, and a heat emitting part extending from the heat absorbing part and exposed to the channel, wherein the heat emitting part includes at least one bent surface arranged parallel to the channel, and at least one through-hole through which the coolant goes.

摘要: The present invention relates to a battery system (100) that comprises at least one plurality of aligned battery cells (80) arranged in a first direction (y). Each of the battery cells (80) comprises a vent hole (88). The battery system (100) further an extinguishing system (60) with a reservoir (61) for an extinguishing agent and at least one conduit means (62) for conducting the extinguishing agent, wherein the conduit means (62) is positioned such that it is hit by a vent-gas jet emitted by any of the vent holes (88) of the plurality of aligned battery cells (80) and wherein the at least one conduit means (62) is configured to be melted by the vent-gas jet. The invention further relates to a cooling circuit (70) for a battery system (100) comprising at least one plurality of aligned battery cells (80), each of the battery cells (80) comprising a vent hole (88). The cooling circuit (70) comprises a conduit means (72) configured for conducting an incombustible or flame-retardant coolant and an evaporator (71) that is in thermal contact with the a first plurality (91) of aligned battery cells (80) and that is configured for causing the coolant to absorb heat from the first plurality of aligned battery cells (80). The conduit means (72) is positioned such that it is hit by a vent-gas jet emitted by any of the vent holes (80) of the first plurality (91) of aligned battery cells (80) and is configured to be melted by the vent-gas jet.

Thermal energy absorbing materials are contained within the electrical energy storage device. Sacrificial members are provided within the thermal energy absorbing materials. In-situ channels are formed within the thermal energy absorbing materials when the sacrificial members thermally decompose.
