摘要: Locking devices for a variety of security purposes utilise a commercially available padlock of rectangular configuration having a sliding bolt (73) which bridges a recess in one side of the padlock. A housing for this type of padlock is formed on or secured to a hasp (61) or other component which is to be locked to a staple (62). The housing has two wall portions (3, 64) and a foot portion (4) corresponding to the two main flat faces and the recessed side face of the padlock, and the padlock is a sliding fit in the housing. There is a slot (72) for entry of the staple (62) into the recess in the padlock. A guard plate (6) partly closes one end of the housing, in line with the bolt (73).
Locking devices are described for locking shutters and doors, particularly on commercial vehicles, and for locking security posts for blocking driveways or roadways.
In a twisting-rod housing mechanism for commercial vehicle doors, the padlock housing (1) is secured vertically to a twistable rod and the staple (226) is mounted so that it is horizontally slidable into and out of the slot in the housing.

摘要: Burner [10] for a furnace and a method of operating the burner [10] involving a primary [22,38] and secondary [28,46] combustion zone wherein staged fuel and air to both combustion zones [22,38;28,46] is provided. By injection of from about 40% to 60% of the liquid or gaseous hydrocarbon fuel along with about 90% of the total air required to a first reaction zone [22,38] and injection of the remaining fuel with the remaining 10% of the air to a secondary reaction zone [28,46] the formation of NO x is significantly suppressed. Such a burner is useful in minimizing NO X emissions for a variety of furnace types including both natural draft and forced draft furnaces.

摘要: A forced draft radiant wall fuel burner, comprises a burner constructed with a central circular pipe (12) for the conduction of pressurised combustion air (44), a second larger diameter pipe (14) coaxial with the air pipe (12), with pressurised gas supplied to the closed annular space (50) between the pipes. The inner pipe (12) extends forwardly beyond the end of the outer pipe (14). Fuel orifices (66) are drilled in the forward and (18) of the annular space (50). A second series of gas orifices (68) are drilled through the outer wall of the second tube (14). A plurality of air orifices (58) are drilled radially in the forward end of the air pipe (12). The air tube (12) spreads conically outwardly at its forward end (52). There are a plurality of longitudinal slots (54). for radial flow of air (62) outwardly against a cylindrical wall (24) which is part of a circular plate (22) over the forward end of the air pipe. The two flows of air provide turbulent and complete mixing with the gas.

摘要: A self-contained single structure for NOx disposal and heat recovery, comprising a burner means (112), including means to supply NOx (oxides of nitrogen) gases (146) to be reduced, primary air (130) in less-than-stoichiometric flow rate, and gaseous fuel (128) at selected flow rate. The gases flow into a first reducing section (114), in which the fuel is burned in a reducing atmosphere, and the NOx gases are reduced. Fire tubes (124) carrying water or steam are positioned to receive heat from the burning gases. At the outlet of the reducing section precooled stack gases (135) are injected (137) into the flame so as to cool the hot products of combustion. The direction of flow of hot gases is turned 90° (164) in a second section. At the end of the second section the direction of flow is turned 90° so as to be counter to the first direction in a third or oxidizing section (182) to which secondary air is added (172) and a fourth or boiler section (124) accepts the hot gases from the oxidizing section to recover the waste heat.

摘要: A filament vegetation trimmer, of the type wherein a supply of filament (28) is stored above the slinger head (14) and fed out through a longitudinal feed passage (18) for radial rotation with the slinger head, is provided with a feed mechanism (12) for selectively releasing incremental amounts of fresh filament from the storage site. The feed mechanism (12) comprises a storage spool (32) and indexing means (70) for permitting controlled quantities of the filament (28) to be drawn from the spool (32) under the centrifugal force exerted on the filament during operation. The feed control means (12) is deployed in an auxiliary handle (30) and is configured to permit actuation by thumb pressure to enable an operator to release fresh filament without interruption of the trimming process.
