    摘要: Silver and/or gold (12) are recovered from ores or concentrates (1) by forming a mixture of the ore or concentrate (1) with electrolyte containing chloride ions (2) and maintaining the mixture at a temperature up to the boiling point of the electrolyte (2) whereby the silver and/or gold (12) is taken into solution (4). The gold and/or silver (12) is precipitated from the solution (4) by contacting the same with a metal having a potential higher than gold or silver in the electrochemical series. If gold is required the pH of the solution is adjusted to greater than 4.

Lugs 18 extending from the first and second contacts 2 and 5 pass through openings in the housing member 11 and through apertures in a printed circuit board 16 to which the sensor is attached by dowels 19. The lugs 18 are then attached to the printed circuit board 16 by soldering.

    摘要: An apparatus and method for forming hard shell gelatin capsules. The apparatus is the type that includes a container for holding liquid gelatin therein, and a plurality of separate and distinct rigid bars are provided to rigidly support a plurality of upright pins. The pins are shaped and sized to have individual halves of the capsules formed thereon. Apparatus is provided for dipping a preselected number of adjacent bars with the pins thereon into the liquid gelatin. The gelatin is dried on the pins that are carried on the bars. The capsules are stripped from the pins. A drive operates the dipping system, the drying system, and the stripping system at a selected speed, when five of the bars are dipped simultaneously into the liquid gelatin. The improvement in the apparatus and process involves dipping six or more of the bars simultaneously, into the liquid gelatin, and providing drive means that operates at least the stripping means at a speed which is at least twenty percent greater than the selected speed when the apparatus utilizes a five bar dip.

    摘要: The principal object of the invention is to provide a method of removing SO2 from other gases by contacting SO2 with a soluble alkali metal base in a first zone at a pH not greater than 6 and thence in a second zone at a pH not lower than 6. Two zones (1, 4) are connected to each other and to a source of gas containing sulfur oxide as a pollutant to be removed. The gas is passed through the two zones in series and scrubbed with aqueous solutions. The pH level is controlled in each zone to minimize the amount of chemical added to the solutions and maximize the efficiency of the sulfur oxide removal.

    摘要: A chair (10) of the type used in theaters or the like includes a seat (23) mounted to a standard (12, 29) by pivot mechanisms (30) which bias the seat to a three-quarter fold position in which the seat is raised to permit row egress. The chair back (22) is pivotally mounted for rotation about a horizontal axis located in the back area of an occupant. A link (21) connects the specially formed seat frame to the lower part of the back frame so that when the seat is in the three-quarter fold position, the top of the chair back is rotated forward so that the chair back assumes a generally vertical disposition thereby increasing egress room for the occupant of the row to the rear. Also, in the three-quarter fold position the link/frame mechanism (21) locks the back panel in that position so that it cannot be displaced should an occupant of the next row to the rear grasp the back panel and use it to steady himself or pull himself out of his seat. When the seat is lowered for use the link rotates the back panel to a normal inclined position for occupant comfort.
