Abstract:
A method of making a pump housing that is net-molded and immediately assumes its final shape and design specification without requiring more than de minimis secondary machining processes. The method utilizes molds and cores configured such that none of the fluid ports of the housing produced using the molds and cores have any intersecting geometry.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for laser engraving a three-dimensional pattern on a surface A moveable laser head having a plurality of individually controllable laser beams is provided A carnage slideway is provided which has a carnage axis whose length corresponds to the width of the roller that will be engraved The apparatus has a laser slideway with an axis that is perpendicular to the carnage axis and a movable laser head The laser slideway is mountable to the carnage slideway such that the laser slideway slides along the carriage axis slideway An indexing roller mechanism is provided when engraving rollers When engraving flat surfaces, a second carriage slideway, perpendicular to the first one, is substituted for the indexing roller mechanism The use of multiple laser beams enables the ability to use a novel engraving method based on pre-calculated volumes of mateπal that are to be removed
Abstract:
A liquid level sensor apparatus and a method of using thereof for determining the level of a conductive liquid held within a container, wherein the container is subject to the accumulation of residue as a consequence of the conductive liquid contained therein. The liquid level sensor includes a sensor part which has a voltage; a ground connection having an electrical polarity; a circumferential ring having a bias voltage opposite in polarity to the ground connection and a voltage corresponding to that of the sensor attached around the sensor; a float which is buoyant on the conductive liquid; and a conductive tip attached to the top of the float, the conductive tip being conductive with the sensor end when in at least one predetermined position.
Abstract:
A method of forming a dome from a substantially round blank having a surface area smaller than the surface area of the dome includes the steps of shear forming the blank (30) on a rotatable flat-nosed conical mandrel (31) to form a deformed blank (35), spin stretching the deformed blank in selected areas along its circumference to form a stretched blank (40), inside spinning the stretched blank into a rough dome (42) within a concave dome mandrel (41), and finish spinning the rough dome on a rotatable convex dome mandrel (51) into the finished dome (53). Predetermined portions of the blank are heated in each forming step.
Abstract:
A cluster assembly for application to a three prong header from the interior of a hermetically-sealed compressor. The cluster assembly includes an insulated block having spaced parallel passages in which connector clips with leads attached are disposed. The block has flanges at the ends of the passageways from which the leads project, the flanges having notches. The leads are placed in the notches and are twisted to lie outside the surfaces of the block, the block when applied spacing the leads away from the compressor housing.
Abstract:
a A wheel bracket assembly comprising: a wheel bracket which includes two spaced portions, an axle extending between and supported on the bracket portions, a wheel, a bearing rotatably supporting the wheel on the axle, and first and second dust covers provided on opposite sides of the wheel, the first dust cover slidably engaging and being rotatably about the axle relative to the bracket but being noramlly held against such relative rotation through frictional engagement with the bracket. The first dust cover has a region which is spaced a predetermined radial distance from the axle and is approximately radially aligned with the bearing, and is manually rotatable relative to the associated bracket portion between a first position in which the region thereof is externally exposed and accessible and a second position in which the region is firmly disposed against an inner surface of the bracket portion so that external access thereto is obstructed by the bracket portion. The first dust cover has an arrangement at the region thereof for facilitating the introduction through the first dust cover of a lubricating material for the bearing.
