A fabric take-up apparatus for a circular knitting machine includes a set of delivery rolls (36,37) for flattening and delivering the flattened fabric (27) to take-up means (40) which winds the flattened fabric into a roll, sensing means (70) for sensing the tension in the fabric and for generating electrical signals indicative of fluctuations in tension from a predetermined, desired tension in the fabric, variable speed drive means for driving the delivery rolls (36,37), and control means for controlling the variable speed drive means responsive to the electrical signals generated by the tension sensing means.

An air ejection nozzle (15) located above the sinker dial (8) and needle cylinder (3) of the machine blows fiber waste from the needle groove of the needle cylinder and toward a fiber waste collection box (16)located below the sinker dial (8). The fiber waste within the box is collected by a member movable (23) within the box by the sinker dial, and is removed from the box by a suction nozzle communicating with an outlet opening of the box.
摘要:
Fiber waste generated adjacent the knitting section of the knitting machine and adjacent yarn feeding devices of the machine is blown to a filter (23) adjacent the top of the machine. The lint is removed from the filter by a rotatable filter cleaner (25) and then is transported by suction to a vacuum device outside of the machine. A blower (36) for blowing fiber waste from the yarn feeding devices is mounted upon a support ring (37) and undergoes reciprocal movement about a path of travel defined by such ring. In one embodiment the ring undergoes rotational movement and the blowing means moves with it, while in another embodiment the ring is stationary and the blowing means moves relative to it.

A fabric take-up unit (5) is supported beneath the needle cylinder (4a) to rotate synchronously therewith and knitted fabric delivery rolls (11, 12, 13) are supported on the fabric take-up unit (5). The fabric delivery rolls (11, 12, 13) are normally driven in response to rotation of the take-up unit (5). In contrast to this normal drive, the knitted fabric delivery rolls (11, 12, 13) are driven by a planetary gear system including a sun gear (17) supported for rotation on the machine frame, a planet gear (18) meshing with the sun gear (17) and being supported on the take-up unit (5). The planet gear (18) is drivingly connected to the fabric delivery rolls (11, 12, 13). A drive motor (34) is fixed on the machine frame and is drivingly connected to the sun gear (17), and a control unit (50) is provided for controlling the speed of rotation of the drive motor (34) and the sun gear (17) so that the quantity of the knitted fabric taken up by the knitted fabric delivery rolls (11, 12, 13) is selectively varied by the speed of rotation of the drive motor (34) and the sun gear (17).
摘要:
A method for constructing a double fleece knit fabric using a circular knitting machine is disclosed. Lay-in, tie-in and knit-in yarns (57, 58 and 59) are fed at respective first, second and third yarn feeders (60, 61 and 62) to the needle. The lay-in and tie-in yarns (57, 58) are caught by the outward, oblique and upward recession of the sinker. The knit-in yarn (59) is fed to the needle (2) and when received onto the upper edge (8g) of the second nose (8e) is drawn down onto the upper edge (8f) of the first nose (8d) of the sinker (8) when the needle (2) is lowered. The needle (2) is lowered to a stitch loop forming position while the sinker (8) is receded from the innermost lower position to the outermost upward position so that the knit-in yarn (59) falls onto the stitch forming ledge (8a) and the respective lengths of the tie-in yarn (58) and knit-in yarn (59) in the needle hook are drawn downward with the older tie-in and knit-in loops being cleared from the needle (2) so as to form a new tie-in loop and knit-in loop over the stitch forming ledge (8a).
摘要:
The amount of vertical movement imparted to the needles (1a) during stitch loop formation is reduced by supporting special types of sinkers (8) for movement in a radial direction and along an inwardly and downwardly inclined path of travel (7a) relative to the needles (1a). As the needles (1a) are raised to the latch clearing level the sinkers (8) are moved inwardly and downwardly to lower the level of the stitch forming ledge (8a) thereof so that the amount of vertical upward movement of the needles (1a) is reduced. As the needles (1a) are then lowered to stitch drawing level, the sinkers (8) are simultaneously moved outwardly and upwardly to raise the stitch drawing ledge (8a) so that a portion of the length of the stitch being formed is determined by the amount of downward movement of the needle (1a) and the remaining portion of the length of the stitch being formed is determined by the amount of upward movement of the sinkers (8).
