摘要:
A method for treating urinary incontinence while avoiding concomitant liability of adverse effects associated with racemic oxybutynin is disclosed. The method comprises administering from 100 mg to 1 000 mg/day of (S)-oxybutynin, (S)-desethyloxybutynin or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, substantially free of the corresponding R enantiomer. Pharmaceutical compositions in the form of tablets, soft elastic gelatin capsules and transdermal devices comprising an acceptable carrier and up to 500 mg of (S)-oxybutynin or (S)-desethyloxybutynin are also disclosed.
摘要:
A method for treating urinary incontinence, such as incontinence resulting from bladder detrusor muscle instability, using enantiomerically enriched (S,R)-glycopyrrolate. The method comprises administering a therapeutically effective amount of enantiomerically enriched (S,R)-glycopyrrolate, or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, substantially free of the (R,S)-glycopyrrolate enantiomer. Pharmaceutical compositions for the treatment of urinary incontinence comprising enantiomerically enriched (S,R)-glycopyrrolate, or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, and an acceptable carrier are also disclosed.
摘要:
Methods and compositions are disclosed utilizing optically pure (+)-fotemustine for the treatment of various malignancies, while substantially reducing the concomitant liability of adverse effects associated with the racemic mixture of fotemustine.
摘要:
Methods are disclosed utilizing the optically pure (-) isomer of norcisapride. This compound is a potent drug for the treatment of gastro-esophageal reflux disease, emesis, dispepsia and other conditions while substantially reducing the concomitant liability of adverse effects associated with cisapride. The (-) isomer of norcisapride also avoids the adverse drug interactions associated with racemic cisapride and other therapeutic agents.
摘要:
Methods and compositions are disclosed utilizing optically pure R-(-)-casodex for the treatment of androgen-dependent prostate cancer, while substantially reducing the concomitant liability of adverse effects associated with the central antiandrogen activity of the racemic mixture of casodex. R-(-)-casodex is a peripherally selective antiandrogen and is therefore useful in the treatment of other conditions supported by androgen or caused by elevated androgen levels. Such conditions include benign prostatic hypertrophy or hyperplasia, acne and hirsutism.
