摘要: A portable device in the form of a mask (10) that can be worn over a user's eyes (22) is provided with a non-visible light source to illuminate the user's eyes (22), and a lens arrangement (30) and image capturing means to capture digital images of the eyes (22) that can then be processed and used to diagnose a variety of dizziness and balance-related disorders and disease. The mask (10) includes a light-omitting seal or cover (16) to prevent external light reaching the eyes (22). The images can then be sent via data transmitter to an external device for processing and/or further analysis. The mask (10) has particular suitability for use remotely by patients themselves during a dizziness episode.

摘要: The invention relates to a method for testing a spatial aptitude anomaly and to a device for carrying out said method. The inventive device comprises an arrangement (1) for fixing a human head, a first transparent screen (2) arranged in a close field of view and a second screen which is visible through the first screen and arranged in the far field of view of a tested person. Said device also comprises means (5, 6) for selectively forming images on the first and second screens and means for recording the motion trajectory of the tested person's pupil watching said images. The inventive method is based on the detection of specific faults of the pupil trajectory such as nystagmus, interception or linearisation of the trajectory, a sudden depression of eyes, etc, when the tested person watches the image displacement along a smooth trajectory on one screen, and on the detection of the irregular modifications of the pupil size and position thereof caused by the reaction to instantaneous transfer of the image from one screen to the other, while the head of the tested persons remains in a fixed position.

摘要: An apparatus for corneal topographic analysis, determining the precise curvature of a cornea and the position of the optical axis giving a map of such curvature to an operator, and also for pupillometric analysis, determining the pupil contour and the relative centre both in steady and dynamic conditions during transients of contraction and dilation, and for a real analysis by fluoresceine by testing a contact lens fitting on a cornea. The apparatus comprises a measuring head (6) having a Placido disc (2) backlighted with a light source (31), suitable for causing the pupil to contract. Coaxial to the disc (2) a videocamera (10) is mounted, comprising an optical unit (11) for focusing on a shot image. The measuring head (6) comprises a plurality of infrared LEDs, for example respectively four LEDs (14,15,16,17), suitable for lighting the eye in a way suitable not to disturb the aperture of the pupil and two visible light LEDs (18,19) arranged on the Placido disc (2) suitable for causing the contraction of the pupil.

摘要: The invention relates to a method for determining distances in the anterior ocular segment, preferably of the pupils and/or the diameter of the iris, wherein the image of at least part of the eye is recorded and digitized using an imaging device and an array for illuminating the eye. On the basis of said digital image, a center of gravity analysis and the determination of the central point are carried out, especially for the position of the pupils, by conducting an intensity and threshold analysis as rough determination. Based on said rough determination, a fine detection of the position of the edges of the pupil and/or the edges of the iris is carried out. Additionally, the angle between the visual axis and the optical axis of the eye can be determined from the position of a fixed reflection to the center of the pupil and/or the center of the iris.

摘要: There have been developed a method for detecting spatial perception anomalies and a device for carrying out this method. The device comprises an arrangement (1) for fixing the head of a person under test, a first transparent screen (2) disposed in a close-vision field, and a second screen (3) seen through the first one and located in a far-vision field of the person under test. The device is provided with means (5) and (6) for creating images selectively on the first and second screens, and also with a means (4) for recording trajectories of the movement of the eye pupil of the person under test while following these images. The method is based on detecting specific irregularities in trajectories of the eye pupils, such as nystagmuses, cut-offs, sudden drops of the gaze, etc., when the person under test follows the smooth trajectory of a moving image on one of the screens; and also on finding irregular changes in the size and position of the eye pupil in response to instantaneous switching of images between the screens while the head of the person under test is kept stationary. 2 independent claims, 14 dependent claims, 9 illustrations.

摘要: A device for non-invasive monitoring of a human or animal subject's bodily functions in vivo, having a first optical system which comprises: a) illumination means (14) for directing illumination light into the eye and for providing the illumination light in one or more pulses; and b) receiving means (17) for receiving light returning from the eye (as a result of illumination by the illumination light) and arranged to record the frequency and/or intensity of such returning light intermittently at a selected timing relative to the pulse(s) of illumination light so as to reduce the proportion of light reflected from the cornea (7) and/or iris (4) and/or lens (9) of the eye that is being recorded. The subject's eye is also thereby used as an integrating sphere so illumination of the interior of the eye is not affected by changes in the illumination light.

摘要: It is an object of the present invention to provide a pupillary reflex checking apparatus that enables a subject to check his own pupillary reflex and that keeps down cost and to provide a fatigue recovery facilitating apparatus that includes the pupillary reflex checking apparatus. The pupillary reflex apparatus of the present invention includes, as essential elements of its structure, a reflecting unit and a stimulus applying unit. Of these, the reflecting unit has a structure which includes an optical reflecting surface disposed in a plane that intersects with a visual axis of a subject such that an image of a pupil of a subject's eye is formed on the optical reflecting surface. Further, the stimulus applying unit applies a stimulus to induce the pupillary reflex in the subject. Specifically, it is possible to use a light source which gives a light stimulus to the subject's eye, such as an LED light source, an electric bulb, a strobe, or the like, as the stimulus applying unit.
