    摘要: A system and method for vibration in a centrifuge is disclosed. A centrifuge (10) for removing more dense material from a fluid medium includes a fluid separation wall (26) placed within a non-rotating sleeve (12). The fluid separation wall (26) rotates around the axis of rotation and includes an inner surface and an outer surface with at least one receptacle (30) formed on the inner surface of the fluid separation wall. The receptacle aids in sepration of more dense material from the fluid medium by forming a void space between the inner and outer surface. An excitation apparatus associated with the receptacle to create a vibration within the receptacle. A flow path may extend through the wall from the void area to the outer sur face to transport more dense material to the containment zone (18).

The pinch valves are operated by a pressurized liquid system which is fed to the different areas through a swivel coupling mounted at a longitudinal shaft supporting the bowl.

Sensing equipment (28) is arranged to sense when an interface layer formed in the separating chamber (8) of the rotor between the separated liquid components has moved radially inwards to a certain level (29), and provides a signal to a control unit (34) which opens the valve (31) for a time to allow the desired amount of heavy liquid component to be discharged from the separating chamber (8).

The sensor element senses vibrations propagating from the receiving head to the sensor element. The transfer element is movable in relation to the centrifuge rotor and the stationary casing so that the position of the receiving head is adjustable.
