    摘要: A video encoding method for encoding a series of images of original video data into an encoded video stream is disclosed. The video encoding method comprises setting a periodic intra refresh pattern for the encoding of the series of images of original video data; setting a number of delta frames (16) to be added between consecutive intra refresh frames (10) of the periodic intra refresh pattern, thereby adjusting the intra refresh periodicity of the encoded video stream; and encoding the series of images of original video data into the encoded video stream using the set periodic intra refresh pattern and the set number of delta frames (16) to be added between consecutive intra refresh frames (10). During the encoding, a current intra refresh frame (10) is set to directly refer to a previous intra refresh frame (10). During the encoding, each delta frame (16) added in between two consecutive intra refresh frames (10) is set to only refer to a previous one of the two consecutive intra refresh frames (10).

    摘要: A method and system are described for preparing a batch 15 of data sets 1-11 for a batch processing using a predetermined correlation encoding operation. In a first step, the batch 15 of data sets 1-15 is analysed to determine a plurality of correlation parameters 22 representing degrees of correlation between member data sets 1-11 of said batch 15 of data sets 1-11. In a second step, the correlation parameters 22 are used to generate an optimized correlation dependency graph 16 of the member sets 1-11 for performing the predetermined correlation encoding operation. By optimizing the correlation dependencies between data sets for subsequent processing, e.g. data compression, of the data sets, the advantages of correlation encoding can be used, even for data sets which appear a priori to be unordered and only weakly correlated.
