A moisture separator/heater that removes moisture from highly moist steam and heats the steam from which the moisture has been removed to produce superheated steam is provided. The moisture separator/heater includes a cylindrical main shell, a moisture separator that removes moisture in steam to be heated that flows in through the bottom of the main shell, and a heater disposed above the moisture separator in the main shell. A plurality of restricting members are disposed in a heating space in the moisture separator/ heater so as to sandwich a tube bundle side plate with an outer rail to restrict rounded-back deformation thereof and are disposed so as to satisfy an expression of 0.2‰¤L1/L and L2/L‰¤0.4, where L represents the total length of a straight tube portion, L1 represents the distance from one of the pad members that is closest to a steam heating header to an end of the straight tube portion on the side where the steam heating header is present, and L2 represents the distance from one of the pad members that is closest to a curved tube portion to an end of the straight tube portion on the side where the curved tube portion is present. The thus configured moisture separator/ heater allows a leak path between an inner rail and the outer rail can be made sufficiently narrow irrespective of the length of a heat-transfer tube.

A thermal power plant comprises a first steam generation module with a first steam superheater 7 connected to a first high pressure turbine, and a first steam reheater 11 connected to a first intermediate pressure turbine. The plant further comprises a second steam generation module 21 comprising a second superheater 24 and a second high pressure turbine HSC HP connected in a bypass line between the first superheater 7 and the first high pressure turbine. There is also a second reheater 27 and intermediate pressure turbine HSC IP in a bypass line between the first reheater 11 and the first intermediate pressure turbine. A selective closure system 1, 2 connects or disconnects the second heaters and turbines. The second steam generation module and turbines may be a Hyper Supercritical augmentation module, selectively incorporated into an Ultra Supercritical system. The Hyper Supercritical module can be isolated, allowing the Ultra Supercritical plant to continue to operate during planned or unplanned maintenance of the higher temperature components. This reduces the commercial risk associated with the relatively unproven materials required for Hyper Supercritical components.

Provided is a steam turbine plant that is provided with: a high and intermediate pressure turbine (21) having a high pressure turbine unit (25) at one end in an axial direction (C) and an intermediate pressure turbine unit (26) at the other end; low pressure turbines (22, 23) disposed coaxially with the high and intermediate pressure turbine (21); a high pressure moisture separating heater (27 (27a, 27b)) that removes moisture from steam from the high pressure turbine unit (25) and sends the steam to the intermediate pressure turbine unit (26); and a low pressure moisture separating heater (28 (28a, 28b)) that removes moisture from the steam from the intermediate pressure turbine unit (26) and sends the steam to the low pressure turbines (22, 23). The high pressure moisture separating heater (27) and the low pressure moisture separating heater (28) are each disposed symmetrically with respect to the center line along the axial direction (C) of the high and intermediate pressure turbine (21), whereby the structure of the steam turbine plant can be simplified and equipment cost can be reduced.
