    摘要： The electrostatic copying apparatus according to the invention is adapted for copying at variable ratios and has an optical device for performing slit exposure scanning of an original document and for pro­jecting its image onto a photosensitive member. The distribution of the illuminance of a document illumi­nating lamp (70) in the widthwise direction is pre­scribed such that when a lens (78) is held at the equal scale position, the decaying characteristics of the lens in the widthwise direction are offset to render the illuminance distribution in the widthwise direction on the photosensitive member (10) sub­stantially uniform, and when the lens is held at the predetermined ratio position, an exposure adjusting plate (150) is positioned partly in a light path leading from the document to the photosensitive member (10), said exposure adjusting plate (150) being adapted for compensating variations in illuminance on the photosensitive member (10) which are ascribable to the displacement of the optical axis in the width­wise direction caused by the movement of the lens (78) from the equal scale position to the pre­determined ratio position and to variations in the degree of focusing on the photosensitive member (10) caused by the change of the projecting ratio and also to variations in the speed of slit exposure scanning.

    摘要： A paper feeder in an electrostatic copying apparatus comprising a cassette-receiving section (20) within the housing of the copying apparatus for mounting thereon a selected one of a plurality of copying paper cassettes containing sheets of copying paper having different sizes. Each of the paper cassettes includes a main body (26) for holding paper sheets which has an opening (42) formed at the forward end portion of its bottom wall (28) and a bottom plate (2') for placing paper sheets thereon which is mounted on the bottom wall (28) of the main body of the cassette so that it can freely pivot about its rear end portion as a fulcrum. The housing of the copying apparatus has provided therein a press-contacting mechanism (4) adapted to act on the bottom plate (2') of the cassette through the opening in the main cassette body. The bottom plate (2') of at least that paper cassette which contains sheets of copying paper having a relatively large size has a compensation piece (18) positioned and arranged therein so that the press-contacting pressure under which the uppermost paper sheet of the sheets of paper having a relatively large size is kept in press contact with a paper feeding member (58) provided in the cassette-receiving section is substantially equal to the press- i contacting pressure under which the uppermost paper sheet of the sheets of copying paper having a relatively small size is kept in press contact with the paper feeding member.

The optical system includes at least one position-variable optical element assembly (74) adapted to be held at any of a plurality of positions corresponding to the aforesaid plurality of projecting ratios. The variable magnification electrostatic copying apparatus includes a unique improved means (182) for varying the projecting ratio of the optical system by moving the position-variable optical element assembly.

    摘要： A copying paper feeding device comprising first and second paper loading sections (2a, 2b) for carrying respective stacks of copying paper sheets. First and second paper delivery mechanisms (10a, 10b) disposed respectively in the first and second paper loading sections (2a, 2b). First and second paper introducing passages (16a, 16b) extend respectively from the first and second paper loading sections (2a, 2b) and terminate in a common junction point from which a single paper conveying passage (30) extends. A first conveyor roller pair (36) is disposed in the first paper introducing passage (16a), and a second conveyor roller pair (38) is disposed at said point of junction or at an upstream part of the paper conveying passage (30). In performing a copying process, either the first or second paper delivery mechanism is selectively actuated. The first and the second conveyor roller pairs (36, 38) are interlocked with each other, and adapted to be started after the first or second paper delivery mechanism has been actuated. When the first paper delivery mechanism (10a) is selectively actuated, the roller pairs (36, 38) are started earlier by the time required to convey a copying paper from the first conveyor roller pair (36) to the second conveyor roller pair (38) than when the second paper delivery mechanism (10b) is actuated. The first conveyor roller pair (36) exerts position-correcting and synchronism-adjusting actions on a copying paper sheet delivered from the first paper loading section (2a), and the second conveyor roller pair (38) exerts position-correcting and synchronism-adjusting actions on a copying paper sheet delivered from the second paper !oadina section (26).
