摘要: A method of transmitting universal serial bus (USB) frames over a communications channel is disclosed. A USB device receives one or more USB frames from a host device via a network, wherein the one or more USB frames are encapsulated in one or more data packets based on a communications protocol associated with the network. The USB device further synchronizes a local clock signal with a clock signal of the host device using a clock synchronization mechanism of the communications protocol. The USB device then determines a number of USB frames transmitted by the host device and processes the one or more USB frames based, at least in part, on the synchronized local clock signal. For some embodiments, the USB device may receive a frame count value and a corresponding media time value from the host device.

摘要: Methods, devices, and computer program products for synchronization of wireless devices in a peer-to-peer network are described herein. In one aspect, a method for synchronizing a wireless communication apparatus is provided. The method includes receiving one or more synchronization messages, each synchronization message having timing information and a cluster identifier, the timing information comprising anchor timing information, the cluster identifier being the same value as a cluster identifier of the apparatus. The method further includes determining whether a difference between a time value when a received synchronization message last received anchor timing information and a time value maintained for the apparatus is greater than a threshold. The method further includes discarding the received synchronization message if the difference exceeds the threshold.

摘要: Beacon-poll frames are transmitted from a station (STA) to a wireless AP in an opportunistic manner. In response to receiving a beacon-poll frame, the wireless AP transmits a unicast beacon frame to the STA, thereby eliminating the need for the STA to periodically wake up to receive broadcast beacon frames from the AP. The wireless AP may transmit the unicast beacon frame at a higher speed than a conventional broadcast beacon frame. As a result, the time that the STA must be awake to receive the unicast beacon frame is significantly less than the time that the STA must be awake to receive a conventional broadcast beacon frame, thereby resulting in significant power savings within the STA. The wireless AP may aggregate downlink (DL) data packets to be transmitted to the STA with the unicast beacon frame, resulting in further power savings within the STA.

摘要: Systems and methodologies are described that enable power save mechanisms to be utilized with active direct transfers. Mobile stations in a wireless communication network can establish direct links between each other to obviate a need to transfer data via an access point. While direct links are active, the mobile stations coordinate or otherwise notify each other about power management modes to effectuate power save delivery of data via direct links. In accordance with a scheduled mechanism, mobile stations coupled via a direct link enter an active mode at a previously negotiated scheduled time after which time data transfer can occur. According to an unscheduled mechanism, one mobile station can remain awake while other enters a power save mode. The sleeping station can awaken and transmit a trigger frame to notify its peer that it is available for data transfers.
