    摘要: A cylindrical coil electrode (10) incorporated in a vacuum interrupter comprises a cylindrical body (12) having an opening at one end thereof, three electrical connectors (16) provided between the edge surface (15) of the opening of the cylindrical body and a main electrode (11). A second cylindrical coil electrode having slits parallel to the first cylindrical coil electrode is mounted in an opposing manner. Because of the above structure, one-turn current flow throughout the current paths so that a uniform axial magnetic field is applied to the main electrode, and an arc current can be uniformly distributed over the entire surface of the main electrode, thereby improving the current interruption performance of the vacuum interrupter.

    摘要: An improved annular seal 10 and hanger 14 which are to be installed in a wellhead housing 12. The annular seal assembly 10 includes seal ring 42 having a central body with upper outer rim 66, upper inner rim 64, lower outer rim 70 and lower inner rim 68 extending from the central body, an upper wedge ring 46, a lower wedge ring 44 and means 50 connecting the rings to allow setting movement thereof, and means releasably securing the assembled rings to the hanger for running into the wellhead housing. Each of the rims includes an outer sealing lip 72, the outer sealing lips having a free diameter less than the diameter of the lower wedge ring so that the sealing lips are protected during running of the hanger into the wellhead housing. Means are provided for moving the wedge rings into the space between the rims of the seal ring for urging the sealing lips into sealing engagement with the interior sealing surface of the housing.

    摘要: An improved wellhead seal assembly 38 includes an annular metal seal ring having upper spaced apart inner and outer rims 72, 74 with an upper energizing ring 58 positioned between such rims and movable axially between them, a resilient seal 50 embedded in and extending through ports in the central portion of the seal ring, lower inner and outer seal rings 60, 62 connected to said central portion of said seal ring by inner and outer bellows 46, 48 and a wedging ring 44 depending from the central portion of the seal ring between such bellows and adapted to move downward between the inner and outer seal rings to wedge them apart into sealing engagement with the inner and outer sealing surfaces. This movement is responsive to downward movement of the upper energizing ring 58 and the flexing of the lower bellows legs and continued movement of the upper energizing ring wedges the upper rims apart into sealing engagement with the inner and outer sealing surfaces, the upper energizing ring being releasably connected to the upper seal rims so that the upper seal is not set until the lower seal is completely energized and set.

    摘要: A flat cable for use with a mass termination connector having a plurality of regularly spaced terminal elements. The flat cable includes a laminated carrier film and a plurality of discrete conductors held in regularly spaced parallel relationship by the carrier film to match the terminal element spacing of the connector. Each conductor has an insulating jacket made of a thermoplastic material. The carrier film includes an attachment layer of thermoplastic insulation having a melting temperature similar to that of the jacket material, and a dimensional stabilization layer made of an insulative material having a melting temperature higher than those of the attachment layer and the jacket material and displaying dimensional stability at the melting temperatures of the attachment layer and jacket material. The jackets of the conductor are fused to the attachment layer, and the attachment layer is held by the stabilization layer. The carrier film can be longitudinally discontinuous to form first cable sections where the conductors are held parallel for ease of termination, and second cable sections where the conductors are not held to increase flexibility and reduce weight. The cable can also be formed into a round configuration to provide advantages during routing. A method of manufacturing this cable is also disclosed.

In one form of the invention the sealing means are at the same diameter so that there is no pressure force developed tending to extend or retract the joint and in another form the sealing means are at different diameters so that a force is developed responsive to the fluid pressure tending to extend the telescoping joint.
