    摘要： A pop-up, rotating stream sprinkler device includes an outer housing having a first longitudinal axis, an inlet end adapted for connection to a source of liquid under pressure, a first inner housing telescopically mounted within the outer housing for movement between retracted and extended positions, and having a second longitudinal axis coincident with the first longitudinal axis, and an outlet end provided with a first arcuate slot adapted to discharge a stream of liquid under pressure. A non-rotatable shaft supports at one end thereof a substantially hollow distributor for rotation thereon downstream of the outlet. The other end of the shaft is fixedly mounted in the first inner housing, and the hollow distributor includes an interior chamber enclosing a brake assembly for retarding the rotation of the distributor. A nozzle disk is removably and rotatably secured to the first inner housing and provided with at least one discharge orifice, so that the nozzle is rotatable to align any part of the at least one discharge orifice with the arcuate slot.

    摘要： A rotary sprinkler includes a rotor (210) rotatably mounted with respect to its nozzle and a retarding device having a first surface rotatable with the rotor, a second surface non-rotatable with respect to the nozzle (202), and a viscous liquid between the two surfaces. The first surface of the retarding device is a cavity (220) formed in the rotor, and the second surface of the retarding device is on a pin (222) non-rotatably mounted with respect to the nozzle and disposed within the cavity (220). The rotor further includes a cover (226) closing the cavity (220) and formed with an opening for receiving the pin (222), and a seal (228) carried by the cover (226) and including an annular sealing surface in contact with the pin (222) to seal the cavity, the annular surface of the seal being located so as to be continuously immersed in the viscous liquid in the cavity.
