    摘要： An improved hose clamp of the kind comprising a steel strip (1) bent to annular shape with the end portions (1', 1'') overlapping. The radially outer one (1'') of the end portions is formed with a threaded passageway (5) having transverse grooves in which engage the threads (4) of a screw worm (3) which is rotatably journalled in a sleeve (2) but axially non-slidable therein. The sleeve encloses the screw worm and comprises a space allowing the outer strip end portion (1'') to be displaced through the sleeve (2) between the inner strip end portion (1') and the screw worm (3) by rotating the latter. The part of the inner strip end portion (1') which is positioned closest to the longitudinal axis of the screw worm is provided with a punched portion (12) and with an upset portion provided at the side of the punched portion positioned closest to the free end of the inner strip end portion (1'). The upset portion (11) is positioned in a notch (10) formed in the radially inner one of the screw worm sleeve walls so that an edge face (10') formed by the notch in the screw worm sleeve (2) forms an abutment face against the edge face (11') of the upset portion (11).

    摘要： A band clamp device of the invention employs a U-shaped housing (16) for the drive worm screw (14) usually formed by progressive stamping from sheet metal. The separate arms (32) of the U embrace the edges of the band (10) and the respective separate arm ends (34, 36) extend beneath the band. The housing can have a single ear only (38 or 40) on one of the said separate arm ends extending through a slot in the band to connect the housing to the band. Usually the housing will have a single ear (38 or 40) at each end, and the single ear adjacent the screw head ent (18) is provided on the said separate downside arm end (38), which is the arm end that receives the maximum force tending to spread the housing arms apart as the band is tightened about an object. It is found that such a structure is able to resist the forces tending to spread the housing arms and to separate the housing from the band, and it permits a wider ear to be used, or alternatively a narrower band for the same width ear. For greater strength the two immediately adjacent edges of the arm ends can be joined together, e.g., by a welding operation.

    摘要： A hose clamp includes a band and a worm drive mechanism. The band has a set of slots located between a first and second circumferential end of the band. The worm drive mechanism is connected to the band and causes radial contraction of the band to tighten the band. The worm drive mechanism includes a screw that engages the set of slots for radial contraction of the band. A clamping-pressure-restoring construction is provided in order to maintain a seal between the hose clamp and an underlying hose during use of the hose clamp and when the underlying hose experiences size expansion and contraction due to, for example, temperature fluctuations.
