A pivotably connected lever member (62) extends downwardly from the support (46). The lever member (62) is pivotable relative to the support (46) and the frame (30), allowing a compact arrangement that avoids the frame (30), the top chain (22) or the sheave (32) clashing with the shell (14) of the buoy (10).

A self-aligning fairlead latch device is provided for guiding and securing an anchor chain between an offshore structure and an anchor. The fairlead latch device includes a latch housing pivotally mounted to a fairlead housing. The latch housing includes one or more latches for securing the anchor chain in place. The fairlead latch device further includes an upper retainer component that is coupled to an upper support structure and a lower support structure. The coupling of the upper retainer component to the support structures allow the fairlead latch device to be relocated by lifting of the device from the support structures.

A marine deck structure for rope contact having an impermeable cover for the purpose of preventing chaffing and wear of ropes is disclosed. Provided is a marine deck structure, such as a bullnose, or H-Bit covered with a durable impermeable cover that protects the structure from the harsh elements and provides a smooth low abrading surface. In another embodiment, rope chaffing surfaces on a marine vessel or dock are covered with an impermeable cover to reduce rope wear. The impermeable cover in one embodiment comprises ultra high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE). A number of ways of covering the marine deck structures are provided, such as positioning cover sheets around or on the support member and attaching the cover by, for example, welding, adhering, or thermally shrinking.

An underwater self-aligning fairlead latch device is provided for guiding and securing an anchor chain (C) between an offshore structure (P) and an anchor (PA). The fairlead device includes a latch housing (14) pivotally mounted to a fairlead housing (12). The latch housing includes one or more latches (42) for securing the anchor chain in place. The fairlead housing includes a bending shoe (28) which guides the anchor chain from its orientation within the bending shoe up the platform column (PC) to the deck. The fairlead housing is pivotally mounted to the offshore structure.
