    摘要: An electronic brake management system for controlling the application of fluid pressure to the brakes associated with wheels on a vehicle is disclosed. The system comprises a plurality of hydraulic valves for controlling the application of fluid to the brakes and a plurality of valve drivers for controlling the valves in accordance with respective electrical control signals for the plurality of valves. The system further includes a valve pulse width modulation controller for generating the respective electrical valve control signals applied to the valve drivers. The electrical valve control signals from the pulse width modulation controller are modulated to reduce the amount of electrical power supplied by the individual ones of the electrical signals once the valve associated with the one of the electrical signals has changed its opening to a desired position. The system further includes a brushless motor for driving a hydraulic pump for supplying fluid to the brakes in accordance with a pulse width modulated motor control signal from a motor signal modulation controller. The brushless motor provides a feedback signal to the motor signal modulation controller which is indicative of the position of the brushless motor rotor.

Next, the preassembled spindle and brake assembly is positioned on a vehicle component such that the vehicle mounting lugs (154) extend through a plurality of corresponding lug receiving apertures formed in the vehicle component. The preassembled spindle and brake assembly can then be secured relative to the vehicle component (152).

Compressed air is applied to an external port of a hydraulic brake or traction control unit which includes valves, accumulators and a positive displacement pump driven by an electric motor connected by internal passageways. The air pressure at another external port is monitored while the various components are exercised according to a test sequence. The monitored pressure must be within predetermined limits at various points of the test to demonstrate that the brake control unit is functioning properly. Air flow rates and pump motor current are also measured at specific points in the test. The test method can identify incorrectly sized and installed components.

    摘要: An assembly for filling and sealing a cavity (14) in a container (10). The assembly includes a fill passage (18) in sealing engagement with the periphery of the receiving passage (12) in the container (10). A vacuum source (24) withdraws gas from the container (10) and the assembly. Powdered material under a vacuum is supplied to a vibrating platform (44) which dispenses the material while vibrating so that the material passes through a valve (48, 52), the fill passage (18) and into the container (10). A plug magazine (26,125) stores and delivers one spherical ball (28) at a time to the fill passage (18) for being forced into the receiving passage (12) to seal the container (10). A vacuum valve (48, 52) seals the material supply from the fill passageway (18) to maintain the vacuum in the material supply when the container (10) is received. A probe (74) has a thermistor at the lower end which changes resistance in response to a change in temperature which occurs upon the material level in the container reaching the lower end of the probe (74), in response to which the vibration of the material supply platform (44) is stopped. The probe (74) is retracted and the snout (68) is moved downwardly to force a ball (28) into the receiving passage (12) to seal the container (10). The vacuum valve (52) is closed, the source of vacuum is closed and the sealed container (10) is received and replaced by another empty container.

The assembly includes a sealed reaction container including an inner compartment to contain the leaching solution and the article, a recirculation system connected to the reaction container for receiving boiled off leaching solution vapor and condensing the vapor and returning the vapor to the reaction container, and a heater for heating the article within the reaction container above the boiling temperature of the leaching solution. The assembly performs a method of dissolving the layer from an article by exposing the article to the leaching solution. The steps include placing the article in the inner compartment of the sealed reaction container containing the leaching solution, heating the article to a temperature above the boiling temperature of the leaching solution to increase the corrosion rate of the outer layer of the article, conducting and condensing boiled off leaching solution vapor in the recirculation system, and selectively returning the collective leaching solution to the reaction container.
