摘要： @ The specification is concerned with sealant compositions comprising prepolymers which are capable of being cured by atmospheric moisture. The compositions provide a desirable blend of properties with regard to application and use, using prepolymers derived from comparatively inexpensive raw materials. The prepolymers correspond to a reaction product of an at least substantially linear acrylate ester polymer having a Tg of not greater than 10°C with a hydrolysable silane having a saturated organo-functional group, the reaction product being a fluid material soluble in organic solvents and curable by exposure to atmospheric moisture to a resilient solid. The prepolymer is a silane-modified polymer which preferably has from 2 to 3 hydrolysable silane groups per molecule of prepolymer and from 1 to 3 hydrolysable groups per silane group. Preferred acrylate ester polymers are homo- or co-polymers of butyl acrylate; copolymers may contain other acrylate monomers and or may contain up to 50 wt % vinyl monomer e.g. styrene. Preferred silanes are amino-silanes particularly those having 2 or 3 hydrolysable alkoxy groups. Also described and claimed are methods of making the prepolymers. The compositions are suited for construction and glazing sealants.

摘要： A fastener-installing tool comprises a housing (1) in which a collet (2) which holds a fastener moves back and forth between a forward fastener-installing position and a rear loading position. A curved feed tube (6) is pivoted on the housing (1) to swing about its centre of curvature into a fastener delivering position in front of the retracted collet (2) to feed into it a fresh fastener delivered through a hose from a supply. The feed tube (6) swings out of the path of the collet (2) when it next advances.
The fastener-delivery means is simple, reliable and economic.

摘要： A multipart article comprising a rod or pin (26) with a sleeve or collar (58) on it is made from one piece of wire by parting off a blank, impact extruding a stem to form the pin or rod, backward extruding a residual portion of the blank to form the sleeve or collar with an internal diameter slightly larger than the diameter of the stem and joined to the stem by a short thin web (64), and then fracturing the web and inserting the pin or rod into the thus separated sleeve or collar.
The advantage in manufacturing small articles on a mass production basis is in the economy of forming two parts in one machine operation rather than making them separately, an example being parts of a blind-riveting assembly.

摘要： A light weight heavy duty blind rivet setting tool having one piece upper housing 14 containing a rivet setting mechanism 16 and a one piece lower pressure vessel 12 having an air activated piston 20 operable to pressurize a medium in the upper housing to activate the rivet setting mechanism. The upper housing 14 has a handle area 19 containing a trigger 110 which, through a trigger linkage 114,118, operates a valve 106 on the bottom of the pressure vessel 12 which is connectable to an air source. A muffler 162 is positioned adjacent the valve 106 to receive the exhausted air from the pressure vessel 12 after the tool has been operated, to minimize the noise level of the tool operation. The trigger linkage 114, 118,126 is adjustable to eliminate the tolerance stack-up in the linkage.
