The pad enables the mounting member and the scraper blade to pivot about a first edge (106) of the mounting member between a first position and a second position, and to pivot about a second edge (108) of the mounting member between the first position and a third position. The pad (120) biases the scraper blade with retarded resilience to pivot from the second position toward the first position, and from the third position toward the first position.

The curvilinear scraping surface (20) is configured in a way such that the cleaning angle (B) formed between a first line (48), tangent to the curvilinear scraping surface (14) and extending through a point where the scraping surface edge (26) is in contact with the conveyor belt (14), and a second line (46), either tangent or parallel to the surface of the conveyor belt (14) and extending through the same point where the scraping surface edge (26) contacts the conveyor belt (14), will remain constant as the conveyor belt cleaner (10) is radially adjusted to compensate for wear to the scraping blade (10).
