In response to receipt of a data segment for transmission over the interface, the transmission management logic is arranged to determine a sequence number of a data segment to be transmitted and compare the sequence number of the data segment to be transmitted with at least one pending sequence number of a previous data segment. Based on the comparison, the transmission management logic either discards the data segment to be transmitted if the sequence number of the data segment to be transmitted matches the at least one pending sequence number of the previous data segment; or adds the sequence number of the data segment to be transmitted to the at least one pending sequence number and transmits the data segment over the interface if the sequence number of the data segment to be transmitted does not match the at least one pending sequence number.

    摘要: An improved acknowledgement (ACK) prioritization scheme is disclosed that provides ACKs with a lower block error rate (BLER) (as opposed to data) over an air interface, provides a separate radio bearer for ACKs, and successively increases the priority of ACKs for each retransmission required. A lower BLER target for ACKs may be achieved by an increase in transmit (Tx) power, additional coding for the radio bearer, or the use of diversity or hybrid automatic repeat request (ARQ) schemes. After packets are identified as either data or an ACK, they are sent to separate Tx buffers over separate radio bearers. Because the ACKs are transmitted over separate bearers and Tx buffers as compared to the data, ACKs are never queued behind the data, and are effectively prioritized as compared to the data. When retransmissions are required for an ACK packet, the scheduling prioritization is increased successively for each ACK retransmission required.

    摘要: Embodiments of the current invention reduce interference from a mobile station (UE) uplink transmission to a received broadcast downlink transmission through a network-based scheduling of time-slotted downlink broadcast transmissions, so that they do not occur concurrently with uplink transmissions. The invention allows low cost, low power UEs to be designed and built by use of the following techniques: (i) downlink broadcast transmissions are time-slotted; (ii) UEs operate either in half-duplex mode for transmission and reception of unicast services, or in full duplex mode where additional bandpass or additional highpass filtering can be applied to the DL unicast carrier; (iii) when unicast services are active for a UE, the UE informs the network of the broadcast services that are being decoded; and (iv) the network schedules unicast transmissions, broadcast transmissions, or both unicast and broadcast transmissions such that the uplink unicast transmission to a UE is never time-coincident with the broadcast transmissions to that UE.
