摘要: Multi-DVR node communication is described. In an embodiment, television-based client devices are each a node of a multi-DVR system where the nodes are implemented for communication with each other. A node status can be communicated from a node of the multi-DVR system to the television-based client devices at the respective nodes of the multi-DVR system. A node status can include a media content identifier of media content being rendered at the node of the multi-DVR system. Additionally, node status updates can be received from each of the television-based client devices at the respective nodes of the multi-DVR system such that one or more of the television-based client devices can request to playback the media content identified in a node status update.

摘要: Embodiments of the present invention relate to detecting and rectifying corruption in a distributed clock in a distributed system. Aspects may include receiving a sequence number used as part of the distributed clock at a node and determining if the sequence number is corrupt. In order to provide an effective mechanism for determining a sequence number is corrupt and taking corrective actions, a valid sequence number range may be determined, a propagation count associated with the sequence number may be evaluated, an estimated sequence number may be calculated, and an epoch number associated with the sequence number may be evaluated. Additionally, in exemplary aspects node with a corrupt trusted sequence values may self diagnosis and terminate associated processes to prevent further propagation of the corrupt sequence number.

摘要: The present invention extends to methods, systems, and computer program products for creating a snapshot of a shared volume that is application consistent across various nodes of a cluster. The invention enables a snapshot of a volume to be initiated on one node which causes all applications in the cluster that use the volume to persist their data to the volume prior to the snapshot being created. Accordingly, the snapshot is application consistent to all applications in the cluster that use the volume. The invention also enables applications on various nodes to perform post snapshot processing on the created snapshot. The invention can be used in an existing backup system that is not cluster aware to enable the existing backup system to create application consistent snapshots of a volume shared by applications across multiple nodes of a cluster.

摘要: A data fulfillment system is described herein that identifies data needs of data marketplace consumers and actively seeks out and attempts to fulfill those needs by adding new data and data providers to the marketplace. After a user enters a search, the system captures the search term(s). If no matching data is found, the data fulfillment system presents to the consumer a screen to suggest a new data offering and to provide a description of data for which the consumer was looking. The system then mines these consumer wants to seek partnerships programmatically by seeing who has this data or operates in this space. Thus, the data fulfillment system provides implicit and explicit ways for consumers to provide information describing data offerings that they want and for potential providers to learn about opportunities to fill current data gaps.

摘要: A minimized state navigation bar is provided for switching between modules within an expanded communication service such as email, calendar, contacts, tasks, etc. and for presenting preview peeks associated with each module to a user. The minimized state may be selected automatically based on user interface context or user action. A temporary preview of a module may be provided upon a hover action over the icons without actually needing to switch to a module. The preview may also be docked or pinned to a location on the main user interface so that it is displayed within the main user interface. New or interesting activity within each module may be highlighted by displaying an information badge next to an icon, for example.

摘要: A navigation bar is provided for switching between modules within an expanded communication service such as email, calendar, contacts, tasks, etc. and for presenting preview peeks associated with each module to a user. A temporary preview of a module may be provided upon a hover action over predefined navigation bar locations such as icons and/or textual identifiers without actually needing to switch to a module. The preview may also be docked or pinned to a location on the main user interface so that it is displayed within the main user interface. New or interesting activity within each module may be highlighted by displaying an information badge next to a module name, for example.
