Provided is a small sized injection molding machine by which a molded product can be produced with a desired level of precision with simple control. An inj ection molding machine is provided with: a longitudinal injection cylinder (61) to which stick-shaped molding materials (S) are sequentially supplied in line from the upper side, the lower end of which is formed into a nozzle shape, and the lower side of which is constituted by a material having a good heat retaining property; a heater (65) which heats the lower portion of the injection cylinder (61); and a pressing shaft (75) which presses the stick-shaped molding materials downward. When the stick shaped-molding material located at the uppermost side is pressed by the pressing shaft (75), the molding material located at the lowermost side which has already been completely melted, is injected into a cavity (21), and the heat from the heater (65) is transmitted to the die (9) side through a nozzle touch portion.

An injection molding system is disclosed that utilizes a melt channel wherein at least a portion of the melt channel has a noncircular cross-section for balancing shear in a melt stream of moldable material that flows therethrough. The noncircular cross-section of the melt channel portion may be, for e.g., capsule-shaped, extended egg-shaped, oval, teardrop-shaped, or peanut-shaped. A flow splitter is also disclosed that is positioned offset from a central axis of an upstream melt channel to protrude between inlets of respective downstream melt channels, where the upstream melt channel splits into the downstream melt channels, to thereby create a narrower inlet into one of the downstream melt channels and a wider inlet into the other of the downstream melt channels.
