A wireless communication system includes an intermediate node, a first node and a second node. There is described a method for implementing MIMO based network coding, comprising the first node transmitting first data to the intermediate node, and the second node transmitting second data to the intermediate node. Both the first node and the second node may use spatial multiplexing or time division multiplexing or frequency division multiplexing on a common/different resource. The intermediate node receives the transmissions from the first node and second node, and performs network coding on the first data and second data using a predefined network coding scheme to produce network coded information. The intermediate node transmits the network coded information to the first node and second node using multi-user MIMO; and; each first or second node receives the MIMO transmissions from the intermediate node and applies network decoding procedures to recover the first data and second data. Network coding schemes include Decode and Forward (DF), Map and Forward (MF) and Amplify and Forward (AF). The first node and second node may be members of groups of nodes all within the same coverage area. A method for scheduling MIMO-based network coded transmissions is also described. Hybrid Automatic Repeat Request (HARQ) transmission may also be network encoded.

An error control method and a cooperative transfer system are provided. The method comprises: each node acting as a transfer node in a cooperative node group codes an acquired distributed information code block to obtain a corresponding distributed check code block and transmits the corresponding distributed check code block to a destination node; the destination node combines a received distributed check code block to generate a check code block and combines the distributed information code block transmitted by each node acting as a source node in the cooperative node group to generate an information code block; and the destination nod decodes the check code block and the information code block. The embodiment of the present invention may perform an XOR operation to the information code block transmitted by each node in the cooperative node group during a linear block coding, so that the information code block of different user stations can be transmitted to a base station in the same frequency band and the same period of time. Therefore, the throughput of the transfer system is increased farthest, and additional cooperative path diversity and linear block code gain are obtained.

The communication node includes an encoder and a decoder. The encoder is arranged to perform an encoding operation by multiplying two or more signals that bear information to form a composite signal. The decoder is arranged to perform a decoding operation by multiplying a received composite signal with one or more complex-conjugated signals, with the decoder yielding a decoded signal that bears information. With the encoding operation, the communication node is adapted to at least partially perform multiplicative-network-coding encoding for a sending communication mode. With the decoding operation, the communication node is adapted to at least partially perform multiplicative-network-coding decoding for a receiving communication mode.

Embodiments of the present invention relate to the field of communications, and provide a network coding method, a relay apparatus and a selection apparatus, which can avoid a case that a network coding system matrix is not full rank, and improve correctness of decoding. The network coding method includes: obtaining network coding information, where the network coding information includes information of a candidate network coding vector set and a candidate transmission rate set, and transmission rates in the candidate transmission rate set are in one-to-one correspondence with network coding vectors in the candidate network coding vector set; selecting a full rank network matrix according to the network coding information; and coding received source node information according to the full rank network matrix. The network coding method, relay apparatus and selection apparatus provided in the embodiments of the present invention are used for network coding.
