In order to determine whether a received 3D undetailed ear impression is a left or right ear impression, a local coordinate system of the 3D undetailed ear is defined based on side independent features of the 3D undetailed ear impression. A skeleton (or center splinel of the 3D undetailed ear impression is detected, and it is determined whether the 3D undetailed ear impression is a left or right ear impression based on the skeleton and the local coordinate system.

Der Hörer ist mit einem Bajonettverschluss an der Ohrschale befestigt. Ein erster Teil (21) des Bajonettveschlusses ist fest mit dem Hörerstutzen (20) verbunden. Ein zweiter Teil (31) des Bajonettverschlusses wird von der Innenseite (33) der Ohrschale an den ersten Teil (21) des Bajonettverschlusses gedreht. Der Bajonettverschluss sorgt für ausreichenden Halt und verschleißfreies Lösen und Verschließen.

A hearing aid comprises a microphone on a proximal side of a device housing and a loudspeaker which via a transmission channel is in open communication with a sound-emitting opening of the device. A sound processing device serves to generate sound received by the microphone to the loudspeaker in amplified form. The device housing is provided on a distal side with an optionally sealed battery chamber for receiving a battery therein. The transmission channel is at least almost wholly separated from the microphone acoustically in order to prevent acoustic feedback. The battery chamber comprises ventilation means for the purpose of increasing the lifespan of the battery.

A 3D geometric description of an undetailed shell model is received, and its features and associated descriptors are automatically extracted. These features are classified, and a database of existing shells and features is queried to determine if a stored shell model matches the received shell model or if stored features match one or more of the extracted features. If matches are found, then specific rules are implemented that have been previously stored and associated with the matched shell model or features on the received shell model. If no matches are found, then generalized binaural modeling rules are utilized based on the classified features.

A system and appertaining method are provided for electronically detailing an impression of an ear canal of a patient. A digitized geometric model of the impression is created, and a software tool is utilized to determine a bony part or canal direction, as well as first and second bends of the impression. An aperture of the impression is determined, and a cutting plane through the aperture is calculated such that the normal vector through the aperture plane aligns with a normal vector of the second bend plane. On establishing this congruence, modeling parameters optimized for modeling wireless based hearing instruments are evoked to optimized and automate design. This calculation can then be utilized for either manual or automated shaping and cutting operations.

Die Erfindung schlägt hierzu die Verwendung eines Gehörgangseinsatzes (10) vor, der einen zylinderförmigen vorderen Teilabschnitt (11) aufweist, der bei getragenem Gehörgangseinsatz (10) in dem Gehörgang (21) liegt, darin jedoch nicht eng anliegt. Die Abdichtung des Gehörgangs (21) erfolgt durch einen zweiten trichter- oder becherförmigen Teilbereich (12) des Gehörgangseinsatzes (10). Dieser schließt den Gehörgang (21) im Übergangsbereich (22) des Gehörgangs (21) zu dem Außenohr und damit außerhalb des eigentlichen Gehörgangs (21) ab. Durch den Gehörgangseinsatz (10) gemäß der Erfindung werden Druckstellen innerhalb des Gehörgangs (21) vermieden und außerdem der Okklusionseffekt verringert.
