摘要: This invention concerns an intravascular blood pump for percutaneous insertion into a patient's blood vessel. The blood pump comprises a pump casing (2) having a blood flow inlet (21) and a blood flow outlet (22), and an impeller (3) arranged in said pump casing (2) so as to be rotatable about an axis of rotation (10). The impeller (3) has blades (31) sized and shaped for conveying blood from the blood flow inlet (21) to the blood flow outlet (22). The blood pump comprises a drive unit (4) for rotating the impeller (3), the drive unit (4) comprising a plurality of posts (40) arranged about the axis of rotation (10). Each of the posts (40) has a longitudinal axis (LA) and an impeller-side end (420) pointing towards the impeller (3). A coil winding (44) is disposed around each of the posts (40) and has an impeller-side end pointing towards the impeller. The coil windings (44) are controllable so as to create a rotating magnetic field, wherein the impeller (3) comprises a magnetic structure (32) arranged to interact with the rotating magnetic field so as to cause rotation of the impeller (3). The posts (40) do not extend with their impeller-side ends (420) radially over the impeller-side ends of the coil winding (44) disposed around the respective posts (40), wherein the term radially relates to the longitudinal axis (LA) of the posts (40).

摘要: The present invention relates to a support system (10) aimed at securing an assist device (16) inside a patient's heart, the assist device (10) comprising a pump (18) inside a pump body (20), and being in fluidic communication with an exit cylinder (24). It comprises an upstream support element (12), aimed at securing the upstream extremity (20a) of the pump body (20) to the patient's heart, a downstream support element (14), aimed at securing the exit cylinder (24) to the patient's heart. The upstream support element (12) and the downstream support element (14) are two independent and autonomous functional elements, and the upstream support element (12) and the downstream support element (14) are aimed to removably secure the assist device (16) inside the patient's heart.

摘要: The invention provides a system for providing improvement in cardiorenal function for a patient, the system comprising: a catheter (31, 31', 80, 90) having a proximal end (35) and a distal region (34, 72, 84), the catheter configured for intravascular placement so that the distal region is disposed in a superior vena cava (SVC) of the patient; a flow limiting element (32, 32', 50, 81, 91, 112, 130, 133, 137, 143) disposed on the distal region of the catheter, the flow limiting element configured to be selectively actuated to at least partially occlude the SVC; a controller (33) configured to be operatively coupled to the catheter to intermittently actuate the flow limiting element to at least partially occlude the SVC for an interval spanning multiple cardiac cycles; wherein the controller is configured to intermittently actuate the flow limiting element to create a negative pressure sink in a right atrium of the patient, accelerating flow from the renal vein, thereby enhancing renal decongestion and promoting blood flow across a kidney of the patient.

摘要: A fluid handling system includes a console configured to connect with a first electrical interface that is configured to connect to a plurality of components of the fluid handling system, the console including a second electrical interface configured to connect with the first electrical interface, a display, and one or more hardware processors. A control system includes the one or more hardware processors and a non-transitory memory storing instructions that, when executed, cause the control system to: detect an electrical signal from a first component of the plurality of components of the fluid handling system responsive to a caretaker performing a first instruction; determine a system state of the fluid handling system based at least in part on the electrical signal from the first component; compare the system state with a predetermined state condition corresponding to said first instruction; and output an indication on the display of the system state.
