At least some of the lugs (110) on the lug portion (90) of the bolt (42) have a tapering outer face (120) so that a rearward face (116) of the respective lug (110) is taller than a forward face (114) of the respective lug (110). In another embodiment, at least some of the lugs (110) on the lug portion (90) of the bolt (42) have tapering side faces (122,124) so that a rearward face (116) of the respective lug (110) is wider than a forward face (114) of the respective lug (110).

摘要: A firearm can have a backbone, a barrel, a swinging wedge, and a barrel latch, in accordance with one or more embodiments. The barrel latch can be in mechanical communication with the swinging wedge. The barrel latch can have a first position and a second position and the swinging wedge can be configured to maintain attachment of the barrel to the backbone when the barrel latch is in the first position and is configured to release the barrel from the backbone when the barrel latch is in the second position. Thus, the firearm can provide quick barrel changes. Other features enhance the reliability and utility of the firearm.

摘要: The present invention provides for a firearm (20) having a receiver (30) defining a bore (32) with the receiver (30) extending along a longitudinal axis (L). The receiver (30) defines an ejection port (34) transverse to the longitudinal axis (L) with the bore (32) defining an inner surface (36). The firearm (20) further includes a bolt carrier (28) disposed in the bore (32) and moveable relative to the receiver (30) along the longitudinal axis (L) between a firing position and a rearward position. The firearm (20) also includes a shield (76) longitudinally affixed to the bolt carrier (28) and movable with the bolt carrier (28) as a unit between the firing and rearward positions along the longitudinal axis (L) with the shield (76) blocking the ejection port (34) when in the firing position and the shield (76) sliding along the inner surface (36) away from the ejection port (34) when moving to the rearward position in conjunction with the bolt carrier (28).
