摘要： A key cutting machine for cutting a notch pattern on a key blank is disclosed. The key cutting machine comprises a pair of cutting heads and a clamp mechanism. Each cutting head includes a cutting wheel having an edge and an alignment structure mounted behind the cutting wheel. Each alignment structure has a key guide portin aligned tangent to the edge of a corresponding cutting wheel to engage and position a key blank laterally. The clamp mechanism is positioned between the cutting heads and is configured to hold the key blank stationary.

Said milling cutter (14) is temporarily attached to the end portion of a stem (18) that is adapted to be inserted axially in said spindle (13) through the back-side end portion of the latter, so as to enable said milling cutter to be fastened to said end portion of the same spindle. The milling cutter 25 (14) is adapted to be brought into contact with a reference plane on the jaw (9) so as to directly and readily achieve a correct setting and adjustment of the milling cutter (14) itself in the operating position thereof.

The system includes a housing, a first source of uniform light fixed relative to the housing, and a second source of uniform light fixed relative to the housing and disposed at an angle relative to the first source of uniform light. A reflecting device is provided that has a reflective surface and a transparent surface. The reflecting surface is configured to reflect light generated by the second source of uniform light towards the first source of uniform light such that when a master key is disposed in the housing, the first source of uniform light generates a profile image of the master key and the second source of uniform light illuminates a surface of the master key. A receiver is operable to capture an image of the master key through the transparent surface of the reflecting device.

The preform used in the duplication process need not include any keyway or keycode prior to the duplication process and, therefore, a single type of preform may be used in generating duplicates of many different types of keys. 摘要： A cylinder lock-key-combination includes a lock cylinder, a cylinder housing (2) and a cylinder plug (3) provided with a key slot (3a) and a row of tumblers (5). The tumblers (5) and associated key (4) present mutually adapted engaging and receiving members which function to forcibly guide movement of the tumblers in two opposite axial directions as the key is inserted into the lock. For instance, the pin tumblers (5) include a circular flange (5a) and a side surface of the key (4) includes a groove (4b) which extends along the length of the key and whose width varies so as to accommodate the flanges of the rotatable or twistable tumblers. Alternatively, the tumblers are provided with a groove or a waisted portion and the key is provided on a side surface thereof with a rail which engages in the groove or waisted portion. In addition, the tumblers (5) may be provided with waisted portions (5b) to enable the tumblers to function as latching pins in coaction with a side-bar, or to form bottom tumblers for coaction with corresponding spring-activated top tumblers, or to function as locking pins in direct engagement with bores provided in the lock housing. The invention also relates to a key for forcibly guiding the pin tumblers, and also to a method of manufacturing such a key from a key blank.
