    摘要: An apparatus for providing an antenna impedance matching network (5) that does not include mechanical switch contacts is disclosed. A retractable antenna (20) includes a conductive plate (35) moveable between the extended and retracted positions of the antenna. When the conductive plate is located in the extended position an impedance matching circuit (50) responsive to the position of the conductive plate is connected between the antenna (25) and an amplifier of a radio telephone. In response to location of the conductive plate in the retracted position, the impedance matching circuit is shorted out such that the antenna is connected directly to the amplifier via a capacitive effect between the conductive plate and a conductive coil (80) of the shorted out impedance matching circuit.

    摘要: In a radio apparatus having a rod-like antenna (6), a cable (12) has one end electrically and mechanically connected to the antenna and is urged by a urging arrangement (22,24) so that it is prevented from slackening. The other end of the cable is fixed to an electrical part such as a circuit board (14) contained in a casing (4) of the radio apparatus. The antenna is stored in a storage portion (8) of the casing so as to be movable in a direction parallel to an extension axis of the antenna. It is preferable that the urging arrangement is constituted by a combination of a tension pulley (22) and a spring member (24) which is interposed between the tension pulley and the casing for urging the tension pulley to make said cable have tension.

The whip antenna (43) passes through the helical antenna (41), and the helical antenna (41) and the whip antenna (43) are electrically insulated from each other. Because the whip antenna (43) is designed to pass through the helical antenna (41), an antenna system for mobile wireless communication can be provided, in which element length is shortened and strength is increased.
