Strip feeding mechanism intended for use in a stamping and forming machine comprises an intermittently rotated sprocket wheel (6) which is located adjacent to the operating zone of the machine in which the stamping and forming tooling is located. The strip material (2) is held against the periphery (10) of the sprocket wheel (6) by a retaining shoe (53) so that the sprocket teeth (12) will enter pilot holes (4) in the strip (2) and advance the strip during feeding intervals. During non-feeding intervals, the pilot pins (24) which are part of the stamping and forming tooling, will adjust the position of the strip (2) relative to the tooling performing the operation thereon. The construction of the biasing shoe (53) and the sprocket wheel (6) is such that the strip (2) is not firmly held by the feeding mechanism and can be moved by a very slight amount by the pilot pins (24) in order to position the strip (2) precisely in the operating zone.

Die Presse arbeitet dann in einem neuen Betriebspunkt (41). Bei einer Hubzahländerung bildet die Regelungseinrichtung mit dem Wert (W) und der bisherigen Sollkennlinie (40) eine neue Betriebskennlinie (44). Mit einer derartigen Stanzpresse können Stanzteile mit erhöhter Präzision über den ganzen Hubzahlbereich herstellbar sein.

The second upper die (94) and the second lower die (194) circularly move in opposite directions, to press-work the long plate member (9). The circular motions of the first upper die (83) and the first lower die (183) and the circular motions of the second upper die (94) and the second lower die (194) are 180° out of phase. Inertial forces caused in the respective dies (83, 183, 94, 194) are mutually cancelled, whereby the press can be entirely kept in good mass balance.

Bending means (34) bend, out of the plane of the disc, the area of the disc material between each adjacent pair of slits so that said areas together form the flange. To avoid eccentricity of the disc, means for centering the disc on the support before clamping are provided, and comprise at least three centering elements (27, 28, 29) which are spaced apart from each other around the circumference of the disc and are connected to driving means (16, 30)) so as to be all at the same distance from the axis of rotation of the support (1) and to be all radially movable simultaneously and at the same speed so as to engage the circumference of the disc.
