    摘要： A lock for a door (10) comprising a casing (11), a bolt (55) operable to extend from or retract into the casing and manually operable bolt retention means to retain the bolt in its retracted state even when an automatically operating bolt holding member (74) is released by inwards movement of a bolt release member (69). The bolt retention means comprises a snib (106) having a part receivable in an opening (103) in the bolt (55) when the bolt is manually moved into the case from its normally retracted position. Once the snib part is in the opening and the inwards force on the bolt removed, the spring acting on the bolt moves the bolt to its normally retracted position, where it is then retained by the snib. To release the retention, the bolt is again moved further into the case, whereupon the snib part is moved clear of the bolt opening under spring bias, and the unretained bolt is moved by its bias to its normally retracted position.

    摘要： A door fastening device for securement at a jamb (10) of the frame of said door (11), the device having a casing with a slot (43) in a recessed central part of a front face (38) thereof at which is disposed a faceplate (40) adjustably secured to the casing and having a slot (47) aligned with slot (43) to allow passage of a bolt (13) of a lock (12) or latch of the door. The bolt is arranged, when extended, to engage and move rearwardly in the casing a cam (24) secured to one side of a link (23) which is pivotally mounted at its respective ends to swivel bolts (21). The rearwards movement of the link (23) causes the bolts to extend through respective openings in the front of the casing to prevent opening of the door. The cam has a flat surface (29; 31) and at 90 DEG thereto an arcuate nose surface (36), the cam being adjustably rotatable to position the flat surface or the nose surface in line with the bolt. Since the nose surface is radially further from the cam rotation axis than the flat surface, the adjustment compensates for differing gaps between the door and frame by ensuring the bolt always moves the link fully to its position where it causes both swivel bolts fully to extend.

Clutch means (36) is provided for interconnecting the plug (32) and the cam (21) to place the plug (32) in another of its states in which angular movement of the plug (32) effects angular movement of the cam (21), in use, the clutch means (36) being keyed to the plug (32).

A second member (10d, 42), moveable about a pivot mounting (22), is driveably connected with the bolt member (10, 40) and the first member (10d) is coupled to the second member (14, 42) at a position between the pivot mounting (22) and the bolt member (10, 40), such that in use, activation of the drive means (8) causes movement of the first member (10d) which in turn produces a relatively larger movement of the bolt member (10, 40).
