    摘要: There is provided a bottle beverage packaging apparatus and method in which an open topped bottle 20 having a primary chamber charged with beverage 21 containing gas in solution is enclosed together with a closure 8 in a pressure chamber 25 which may be formed against a shoulder of the bottle. The chamber 25 is pressurised with nitrogen gas to pressurise the primary chamber and a secondary chamber 14 in the closure 8 through an aperture 15 of the chamber 14 prior to the closure 8 being displaced by a closure locator 5 to seal the open top of the bottle in the pressurised chamber 25. A projection 11A from the secondary chamber 14 extends into the beverage 20 to locate the aperture 15 beneath the surface thereof. Following sealing of the bottle the chamber 25 is de-pressurised and opened for removal of the sealed package. The chamber 25 may be formed by a tubular shroud 2 carried by a rotating carousel. The secondary chamber 14 may be formed in a hollow insert separate from the closure 8. There is also provided a beverage package in which the closure which may be fitted by the apparatus and system includes a manually openable vent that reduces a headspace pressure in the sealed package to atmospheric pressure for gas to be injected into the beverage through the aperture 15 for froth development prior to removal of the closure from the bottle.

The small headspace 15 initially provided facilitates removal of air therefrom prior to sealing of the container while the enlarged headspace 15A is adequate to accommodate froth or foam developed by the intentional liberation of gas from solution in the beer. An insert part 7 forming a secondary chamber 5 may be provided for injecting gas or liquid into the beer to liberate gas therefrom for froth or foam development in the enlarged headspace. The relief chamber 6 may contain gas under pressure so that when opened to the primary chamber the release of such gas pressurises the enlarged headspace 15A. The insert part 7 may be located within the relief chamber 6.

    摘要: A beverage package and a method of packaging a beverage having gas in solution has a sealed bottle 1 with a primary chamber 9 containing the beverage and forming a primary headspace 20 comprising gas at a pressure greater than atmospheric. A hollow plastics moulded pod 10 forms a secondary chamber 17 which communicates with the beverage 19 by way of a restricted orifice 18. Beverage from the chamber 9 enters the chamber 17 by way of the orifice 18 and when the beverage is in equilibrium a secondary headspace 21 is formed in the insert. Upon opening the bottle 1, the pressure differential between the headspaces 20 and 21 ejects beverage from the insert 10 through orifice 18 to develop froth on the beverage. The insert 10 carries a permanent magnet 15 which is encapsulated within the plastics. The magnet 15 is attracted to a metallic strip 8 on the bottle base to retain the insert at its desired location in the bottle.
    The insert 10 is dimensioned to be dropped into position on the bottle base through the bottle mouth and in an alternative arrangement the permanent magnet is carried on the bottle base to attract a metallic strip carried by the insert 10.
