摘要： An apparatus is described which can receive a large number of earplugs from a box and dispense one or two of them at a time to a worker. The apparatus includes a wheel (22) which is rotatable on a frame (12) and which has holes (24) that move in a circular path and that can each receive a single earplug (16). As each hole moves over a dispense passage (18), the earplug in the hole can fall out, and be dispensed. A barrier (42, Fig. 4) lying above the wheel, prevents an earplug from falling into a hole that lies at the passage. The barrier covers only one side (52) of the path (32) of the holes, to allow a deformed earplug to move along the other, uncovered side (54) of the path. The wheel has a narrow slot (80) extending from each hole to the periphery, so a tool can be projected through a frame opening (84) and through the slot to dislodge an earplug stuck in a wheel hole. The wheel has an upward projection (102) with inclined guideways (104) that each guide an earplug into a wheel hole.

摘要： An earplug-holding box is described, which can be inserted into a dispenser where the contents can be readily released. The box (30) has a bottom wall formed by a pair of flaps (50, 52). A release device (34) holds outer portions (64, 66) of the flaps together until the release device is pulled out. The outer portion of each flap includes an upstanding tab (76, 78) with a horizontal slot (82), and the release device includes a cardboard plate which is received in the slots. While the upper walls (84, figure 5) of the slots press down against the release plate, the widely spaced opposite sides (90, 92) of the release plate bear against the upper surfaces (94, 96) of the flaps to prevent the tabs (76, 78) and therefore the flaps (50, 52) from moving down.

摘要： A compact exercise device (10) of the type wherein a person grips handle devices (12, 30) lying at opposite ends of a rope that extends through a housing (22), the person pulling one end of the rope away from the housing while resisting movement of the other end of the rope towards the housing to exercise. A wind up spool (114) lies in one of the handle devices and a spring (130) urges the spool to wind up rope by a spring, but the spool is normally prevented from turning in either direction by a release mechanism (110). A person who holds a handle grip (100) with most fingers of his/her hand, uses his/her thumb to depress a button (90) to operate the release mechanism. While the thumb continues to depress the button, the person moves a handle device away from the housing to lengthen the effective length of rope, or moves a handle device towards the housing to shorten the effective length of rope. In another device, windup spools (226, 228) lie in the housing, and a person depresses a button (202) on the housing to operate the release mechanism.
