摘要: A thermal energy storage device (10) is disclosed. The device incudes a tank (12) having an inlet (14) and an outlet (16), and at least one fluid distribution plate (22) which divides the tank into at least first and second chambers (24a, 24b). The at least one fluid distribution plate (22) has a plurality of groups (26) of apertures (28), which allow fluid communication between the first and second chambers (24a, 24b). Each aperture (28) has an aperture outlet axis. The device (10) also includes a first fixed array of containers (30) located within the second chamber (24b). Each container (30) is filled with an energy storage medium. Each group (26) of apertures (28) is arranged in the at least one plate (22) such that the aperture outlet axis of each aperture (28) of a group (26) projects through at least one container (30).

摘要: Ducting (10) is described. The ducting is for use with: a high pressure turbocharger (HPT) having a HPT exhaust gas outlet, and a low pressure turbocharger (LPT) having an LPT exhaust gas inlet. The ducting (10) comprises first and second ducts (16, 18). The first duct (16) has a first duct inlet (20) that is connectable to the HPT exhaust gas outlet and a first duct outlet (22) that is connectable to the LPT exhaust gas inlet. The second duct (18) has a second duct inlet (26) for wastegate gases from a wastegate of the HPT and a second duct outlet (28) located within the first duct (16). The second duct (18) comprises an elongate second duct portion (29) which is a length of the second duct (18) located within the first duct (16). The second duct portion (29) comprises the second duct outlet (28) and is arranged such that the second duct outlet (28) is pointed towards the first duct outlet (22).

摘要: An engine exhaust aftertreatment system and comprising a particle filter and a selective catalytic reduction device provided downstream of the particle filter. A first oxidation catalyst device is provided upstream of the particle filter and a second oxidation catalyst device provided between the particle filter and the selective catalytic reduction device. A first bypass device is selectively operable to bypass the first oxidation catalyst device under control of a control system. The control system activates the first bypass device when the temperature of the exhaust stream is above a first threshold value and the soot load in the particle filter being below a second threshold value, to reduce excessive passive regeneration of the particle filter that may increase particle emission count.
