A regenerator (600) for use with a dryer cartridge (102) is provided. The regenerator includes a housing (604) having a chamber (612) for receiving at least a portion of the dryer cartridge. The regenerator further comprises a heater (618) positioned within the housing for heating the dryer cartridge when positioned in the chamber. A drying cycle is performed by heating the dryer cartridge within the chamber using the heater. During a heating cycle the dryer cartridge is heated to a temperature within a predetermined range of temperatures. During a cooling cycle the dryer cartridge is cooled to a predetermined temperature that is below the predetermined range of temperatures. The heating cycle and the cooling cycle define a drying cycle.
