摘要： A selectively adjustable apparatus permits the holding down and stabilizing of cartons in a continuous motion packaging machine as grouped articles are inserted into the cartons. Spaced parallel hold-down rails (56, 62) engage the tops of cartons moving on a conveyor to hold them down and a side rail (97) engages the back ends of the cartons. A system of vertical and horizontal guide rails (38, 39, 46, 47, 57, 58), sliding guide blocks (41, 42, 48, 49, 63, 64), brackets (43, 44, 51, 52, 66, 67) and actuators (32, 73, 74) provide for adjustment of the hold-down rails to accommodate cartons of varying sizes.

摘要： This invention relates to carriers (10, 111) that have partition panels (12, 66) attached to one or both ends of the carrier (10, 111, 112, 186) via an end flap. All of the outside panels of these carriers (10, 111) are folded about lines that are parallel to the longitudinal direction of the gluer on which the carrier is folded and glued. All of these carriers have multi-ply handles (86A, 86B, 152, 208) in which none of the plies are foldably attached to each other at their top edges. Nicks (106, 156, 222) may be provided between the handle panels (86A, 86B, 152, 208) and the side and end flaps to hold the carrier (10, 111) in proper position during the folding and gluing operation. This invention also relates to a method of folding and gluing the carriers on a straight-line gluer.

摘要： There is provided a paperboard sleeve having a top, oppositely disposed side panels and a pair of base panels which interlock using suitable formations 24 to form an open ended sleeve. The sleeve provides a number of apertures 38 for receiving the heels of bottles retained by the sleeve. The end-most apertures 38 are each formed by a flap which is folded out to form the aperture. The flap has a first part 41 which remains attached to a central side panel 20 and a second part 42 which lies in the open end of the sleeve. An end panel 27 is then folded up about its hinge line 26 with the base and is glued to the two second parts 42, one at either side of the sleeve.

摘要： A basket-style article carrier (10) for carrying nonbreakable articles (B). A divider strap (26) is connected to and extends between opposite side panels (12). The strap (26) is connected to the side panels (12) by a glue flap (22, 24) at each end, one (22) of which is connected by fold line (38) to the upper edge of the associated side panel (12). The strap (26) causes the carrier (10) to resist bowing when an article (B) is removed, thereby preventing excessive sagging which otherwise tends to allow the remaining articles (B) in the carrier (10) to fall out.

The second side wall (20) provides a strap handle (26) and a secondary side panel (30) which is connected to the second side wall (20) by Z-fold arrangements. In use the secondary side panels (30) lies beneath the strap handle, printed side up, but is not adhesively attached to the strap handle (26).

摘要： A basket-style carrier (10) containing openings (24, 26) in the side and end panels (16, 14) through which the lower portions of packaged articles can be seen. Flaps (30, 32) connected to one or more opening edges are folded into the interior of the carrier so as to block the pricing bar code on adjacent articles without obstructing the view through the openings. The openings extend down to the bottom panel (18) but do not interfere with connections to riser panels (58, 60) connecting a handle panel (44, 45) to the end panels. The openings also allow the carriers to fit into molded packing trays (T) of the type which include inwardly extending reinforcing elements (R). The carrier is designed to allow the reinforcing elements to extend into the carrier through the carrier openings.
